hi

we're planning to visit for a 3 night stay first week of sept with our 3 year old dd and baby (which arrives in may), and just wondered where is good to stay? would be ideal to have a hotel with adjoining rooms or something but i guess this isn't a big deal. Also whats it like to visit early sept, as the plan was to go when the weather is still good but when the schools have started to go back and so is less busy?

also trying to work out if it would be cheaper to drive down rather than do the eurostar thing?

Thanks!

Your post is helpful, but is advertising your company, which is not allowed. There is a section for small business ads on MN - if you contact MNHQ they can help you with that.

No idea on the adjoining rooms. We stayed in Cheyenne Hotel which was one of the cheaper options. It is a 10 minute walk from the parks, or there is a bus transfer. We preferred to go on foot, it is a pleasant walk along a small river.

You might want to look at the Disney Hotel right next to the park, if you can afford it, as that would mean you could pop back to the hotel for an hour with the baby for a while if necessary.

Once you are there, you don't need a car and the train station is right at the park entrance so very easy to get to hotels from there.

Depending on where you live, we found no frills flights were cheaper & faster door to door (even allowing for travelling to & waiting to depart at airport). Actual flight was less than 1 hr. Got TGV train (not underground) from Charles De Gaulle to Disney gates.

Would recommend Disneyland Hotel (built over the entrance to the park) and to book a private transfer from airport to the hotel rather than struggle with public transport. You'll get a private transfer for around 60 euro each way.

DL hotel is lovely. Very chilled and relaxed, fantastic service, definitely 5 star service though could probably do with a refurb at this stage.

Great breakfasts. Huge buffet selection of hot and cold foods.

Lots of opportunities to meet characters - breakfast time, lunchtime and mid-afternoon most days.

Location is brilliant and especially with 2 small children. Very easy to nip back for a nap or a rest.

Enjoy your trip.

Hi,
There are 6 Disney ownd hotels within easy walking distance of the parks, and 5 non Disney associated hotels just outside the resort perimeter road which all have free shuttle bus serviceto the parks and Village every 20 mins.
The Disney hotels also have a free shuttle bus every 12 minutes for those who do not wish to walk.

Benefits of staying in a Disney hotel include Extra Magic Hours, which gives you 2 extra hours in the main park on selected rides from 8am before the general public are allowed into the park at 10am. There are also Disney Characters in the hotels at set times of the day. It is convenient being able to walk to/ from the parks and village as the shuttle buses can be very crowed, especially at parks closing time. Apart from the Disneyland Hotel that Granard mentions, the others range from 7 to approx 15 mins walk to the parks.

Which hotel to choose depends on personal choice of theming, sleeping arrangements regarding double beds/ single beds/ sofa beds/ bunk beds, and how much you can afford to spend.
The Disneyland Hotel that Granard mentions is in a super location over the park entrance, and very grand, but is also very expensive. You could have 3 nts in the Santa Fe or Cheyenne budget hotels for the price of 1 nt in the DLH.

All the resort hotels standard rooms are geared for a family of four, so booking two rooms with a connecting door just for 2 adults and 2 kids would be extra unnecessary cost IMO. My boys always shared a double bed. By the time you have been up early, been in the parks all day, and had dinner, you are all jusy ready to go to bed and sleep!

For people on a tighter budget there are hotels outside resort, in Val D'Europe, Bussy St Georges or Torcy, within easy reach of Disneyland by train or free shuttle bus. You may prefer to look at the Adagio aparthotel in Val D'Europe, which has apartments with one or two bedrooms. Val DE is only one stop from Disney on the train, and is close to a huge modern shopping mall with Sealife Centre. The railway station in Disneyland (www.mumsnet.com/Talk/general_advice_tips/1186569-disneyland-paris-where-to-stay Marne La Vallee Chessy ) is very close to both parks, the Disney Village, and the bus stops for resort hotels, Val DE, and also airport buses.

Parks closing times depends on the time of year - weekends are busy but the parks stay open later. In September the weekday closing times are around 6pm Studios Park and 8/9 pm Disneyland Park.

French schools are due back on 5th September. Last year Barcelona schools went back on 7th Sept. So the parks should be less busy after the first week, although this is a popular time for people with pre school children, and it can also be very hot.

Halloween celebrations usually begin from the beginning of October, when the parks are decorated with Halloween theming and extra Halloween related Characters.

Have a look at the Trip Advisor Marne La Vallee forum, which is specifically for Disneyland Paris, and see the Top Questions list on the forum page - there is a TQ about where to stay with more details. You can also get help from people who have been visiting DLP for many years and will be glad to help you plan your trip.
