hi,

we have a 3 year old and a baby due in may, and really want to get away end of august to somewhere a bit warm and also cheap! have been looking at the siblu places as seem quite good value, but wondered if anyone can recommend a particular park of theirs (or something similar with a different company) that will keep them entertained whilst giving us the chance to relax at the same time!?

just want some ideas really of whats been great for you guys with the kids!

thanks!

We're going to es Charmettes (Siblu) this year, using Tesco Clubcard vouchers, so it'll be free (10 of us!). Not been before so I can't say what it's really like, but have you looked on Tripadvisor? We chose that one because it isn't too far to drive but fairly southern.

We've been to Lac des Reves and I can highly recommend it. The pool is lovely and there is loads to do in the local area. I did a review on here. The staff were all really friendly.

We are off to La Carabasse this year - that seems to get good reviews.

We have been with Keycamp/Canvas and had a great time, but I do like Siblu because they don't cram the mobiles in and each one gets a decent bit of out door space. We went to Parc Albatross in Tuscany last year. That is classed a "large" site. In area I think it is no bigger than Lac des Reves, but it seemed to have about 10 x the number of mobile homes in the same space. The facilities were top notch though.

Sorry, going to hijack, if that's Ok.

Portofino (hello again Wink), did you drive to Lac des Reves or fly? We're trying to find somewhere driveable from a ferry port as our DSs are not great for very long journeys. Did you go in August, and was it boiling?

Thanks, in advance.

We drove. We live in Belgium so it is aboout 10 hours. Actually when we did it 2 years ago. we stayed in the Novotel Lyon Nord and were at Lac Des Reves by lunchtime the next day. Montpellier Airport is very close though - 10 mins if you wanted to fly and hire a car.

We went in July. It was hot. The South of France is HOT in the summer. Not unbearably so though, compared to Italy/Greek islands etc.
