Hi we are going to mallorca for a week over Easter with our 15mo. It's our first time taking him abroad and I pack basically everything he owns for our UK holidays!
Could anybody give me any advice on what to take and what we really don't need to bother with?

Thanks :)

Haven't taken a child this young, but have taken DD's pre school and older many times.
I wouldn't worry about lots of sun cream or groceries, these things are easy to get. There are also plenty of pharmacies, which I found spoke good English so most normal medical supplies are available. (don't know about calpol it lives in my toilet bag Smile)
I'd de tempted to take nappies and follow on milk if he still drinks it (and I used to take enough blackcurrant squash to last a few days until we found some) Nappies you should be able to get, but the multitude of spar type shops are not big enough to offer much choice and are a bit pricey.
If you are anywhere near Sa Coma there is proper "Tescos" called Eroski that sells everything (clothes, homeware etc) at normal supermarket rates, Worth the trip if you are self catering anywhere on the East coast and have a car.
The one thing I have not found is a reliable source of all sizes and kinds of children's clothes and shoes (t shirts and "crocks yes, but shorts, swim nappies and trunks - you may get lucky in the beach shops or you may not) Mallorca is not that large and I suspect that M & S style department stores are only to be found in Palma.
No where we have stayed minds at all you bringing food and drink into the rooms, only by the pool did they care.
The only other reminder is everyone drinks bottled water, you can therefore get it cheaply in big containers, take his favourite mug or bottle.
We normally buy one lot of small bottles and refill them when we go out ( if staying in a hotel you have to "hide" them, the maids "helpfully" put empty bottles left by the sink in the bin.
Non drinkable water is a pain if you are arriving very late at night as you have to risk a bottle in hold luggage with the present maddening security rules.

Thanks so much for the advice! Do you think I should take our own travel cot? They do provide them in the hotel which is 4* do you think the quality would be ok? :)
