Bikes at center parcs - question about pre-schooler

I am not sure what to hire for bikes. I have a 4.5 year old and a 16 month old. My 4 year old rides one of those pedalless two wheeled bikes. I think he will want his own bike, but on the otherhand, with the hills I have heard about at Longleat, I don't think he could handle pedalling around. I am assuming he is too big (42 pounds and tall) for a bike seat on the back (though I assume my toddler would go on one) and would need a trailer of some kind. Or is there a sort of attachment that he could pedal onto the adult bikes? Also, I haven't ridden a bike for years (though I am sure I still can) so am worried about pulling a trailer. My husband could do it, but he presumably can't do both.

ANy suggestions gratefully recieved!

Is a tagalong the one that has pedals but attaches to an adult bike? I think that would be the best too. A trailer seems to sedendary really. Are they easy to use?

We've done Longleat Centre Parcs every year since my two were newborns. I reckon the trailers are brill for both kids at this age. There is so much cycling and with all the swimming and playing the little ones get absolutely cream crackered and seemed to be really grateful to be able to just sit down for a bit and be taken around.

My husband always did the trailer because of the weight.
