Is Portugal too cold in the October half term?

I wanted to go to areas that are less spoiled, so probably not the Algarve built up bit, but will it be warm enough. Any suggestions would be great...Thanks

It will be warm, but possibly not bikini/swimming weather. But you could be lucky!

We go to Tavira, and have toyed with October half term (but not actually done it yet). My friend whose place we go to says it can be absolutely fantastic, but a bit more variable....

We went last October in Scottish school holidays (10th Oct) and we had lovely weather. Rained first day we were there the sunny for next 10 days.Outdoor pools a bit too chilly but still pleasant enough for sunbathing on beach/sitting on balcony and sea wasnt too unpleasant!

We have a house in Luz (western Algarve) and went there for the October half term last year. It was lovely and warm with temps of between 18 and 25. Had a few cloudy days but still lovely. The DDs wore their bikinis a few times and paddled in the sea and we came back with a bit of a tan.

To get really warm weather in Oct you need to go further afield e.g. Egypt/ Dubai.

PS. Luz still has a fishing village feel (not especially built up) but plenty of nice restaurants and very close to the larger town of Lagos.
