Hi,
I have stayed in the NBC hotel many times over the years since it opened in 1992. There are indeed hairdryers in the rooms, by the large mirror above the sink unit which also houses the minibar and safe.
The sink unit is not in the bathroom, but just outside, along with a clothes hanging area.

This is a huge hotel separated into two wings - East and West. The Nantucket pools are in the East Wing, so ask for a room there to be closer to the pools. Some rooms have balconies, and you can request this for no extra charge.
You may be lucky and upgraded to a lakeview room, but these usually cost extra.

Standard rooms do not have kettles etc so take a travel one with mugs, spoons, tea/ coffee sachets etc if you want to make drinks in your room.
Admirals Floor rooms are more central, 6th floor or higher, so have great views. We especially like room 6310, as it has views of the outdoor pool, lake, has a balcony with canopy over, and we can see the fireworks over the castle from here in summer. Admirals Floor has a separate check in desk, so usually no queue on arrival. They also usually put our luggage in our room for us. Admirals Floor also has room service if requested.

They will ask you what time you want breakfast each day when you check in, and give you a ticket to hand in at the restaurant desk - we always have early breakfast 7-7.15am, to avoid the crowds and queues later, and so we can be at the park gate for 8am EMH.

The outdoor pool is not open in winter months. The indoor pool is open from 3pm to 10pm.

In terms of elegance and decor, the NBC is similar to the Disneyland Hotel, but with nautical theming.

It is currently a longer walk around the lake to the Village and parks while they are building the new Earl Of Sandwich restaurant opposite Cafe Mickey, next to Rainforest Cafe. NBC guests have to walk past the Sequoia Lodge and New York hotels, so 2 sides of the lake instead of one.
EOS restaurant is due to open this Spring, so then the pathway on that side of the lake should be open again.

The hotel has 2 restaurants - Cape Cod buffet and Yacht Club table service. HB PLUS category.

To walk to the Village and parks, exit the back of the hotel by the lake.
Free shuttle buses go from the front of the hotel to the bus stops by the railway station/ Village/ Parks about every 12 mins from early until late at night. These are obviously very crowded at peak times of the day, especially after parks closing time, and it can be quicker to walk.

We went and it was lovely. I'm sure we did have a kettle, dh certainly wouldn;t survive without his gazillion cups of tea.

My top tip would be to have breakfast in the park. It means you get early entry and some of the rides are open. You can also discreetly make a packed lunch up from the breakfast buffet (ham, cheese, philadelphia, bread rolls, croissants etc. Lunch inside the park is limited and expensive junk food.

Kettles and tea/ coffee are definitely only standard in Admirals Floor rooms. You can request a kettle at the Concierge desk or reception/ guest services but you usually have to pay a deposit and it depends if they have any available. They charge for tea/ coffee refillls which is why I take my own.

You cannot always have breakfast in the park - it can depend on which hotel you are staying in, and when you go. If they are offering this, it is in Plaza Gardens Restaurant just off Main Street, or possibly in Chalet De La Marionette ( Pinnocchio) restaurant in Fantasyland.
The breakfast buffet is the same as you get in the Moderate hotels, but no hot food.
Ask about breakfast in the park when you check in at reception if you are interested, and they will say if you can book this.

All guests of Disney hotels can enter the DL Park from 8am for EMH. If you decide to have breakfast in the park it will cut into your EMH as you cannot eat before 8am. They do not let you in earlier than this.
That is why we have breakfast at 7- 7.30 so we can make full use of EMH.
They will give you a list of rides that are open early when you check in along with park maps, programme etc, but it is best to do as much ride / attraction research and planning as you can before you go.

If you want Character breakfast at Cafe Mickey, hotel reception will give you a voucher towards the cost, but you have to make a reservation for this. Cafe Mickey breakfast buffet normal cost is ? 24 adult ? 16.20 child. I think the voucher covers about half the cost.

There is a lot of info and tips on the MLV forum link I gave you - look in the Top Questions list there. Too much to reproduce here.

HB Plus has a lot of choices of restaurants, and the one that we use. You can read reviews of the different restaurants and also see menus on www.dlrpmagic.com and also read reviews and see photos on Trip Advisor. I have written quite a few.

Dinner in the parks depends on park closing time, as restaurants are not open for dinner all year round - only when the park is open until late.
The Studios does not have any fine dining table service restaurants yet, but Walt's and Blue Lagoon in the DL Park are both Plus category and very good.
Auberge De Cendrillon is Prince/ Princess Character Dining but you would have to pay extra using your vouchers as this is Premium category.
Silver Spur Steakhouse in Frontierland is also a Plus category fine dining table service restaurant.

Buffets are good for people with healthy appetites as they are all you can eat. Also good for fussy kids as lots of choice. Kids under 3 eat free. The buffets in the parks are good but only Standard HB caregory, so not getting the best value for your money. ( Agrabah Cafe, Plaza Gardens, Restaurant Des Stars ). Lucky Nugget Saloon in Frontierland is a HB Plus category Character Tex Mex lunch buffet.

The buffet and table service restaurants in the NY Sequoia and NBC hotels are all Plus category. The Steakhouse in the Village is also good, but remember this is fine dining, so don't expect piles of chips!

Annettes Diner in the Village has good American style burgers and fries with good size portions, but this is only Standard HB category. You cannot make advance reservations for Annettes.

You can see photos of meals with restaurant reviews on TA to give you some idea.

You can find my DLP restaurant reviews and photos on TA here.

You can use your Plus vouchers in Cafe Mickey for Character Lunch or Dinner.

I definitely recommend making ADR's to save disappointment. You can easily alter or cancel reservations if you change your mind later. Character meals are especially popular.
