Security checks on baby formula

I'm travelling to Brisbane via Dubai (Emirates) in 2wks time with my 4mth old. He is formula fed and due to security restrictions in UK (having to taste baby food/formula), I plan to buy ready made cartons for the whole journey airside in Birmingham.

My flight has a 3hr stop over in Dubai. Will I go through security again in Dubai airport and if so, will I have to relinquish/taste my baby milk cartons? In addition, I think I have to get off the plane for an hour in Singapore for refuelling - would the same apply there as well?

Trying to work out how to minimalise the stress for the travelling. Advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes and yes.I have just done this flight. Well almost. I found Emirates VERY strict at Dubai. We had to taste everything. Same when we refulled at KL which was RIDICULOUS as we were herded into a room and then back on board. We were fully security checked on leaving the room and had our passports checked FOUR TIMES!

Also you are not allowed to take ANY medicines that are not allowed in Dubai. So medised is a no, no. I think calpol is OK though. My dd has a peanut allergy and we were not allowed to take her Piriton on board. We had to go and get her an epi-pen an hour before we left for the airport.

You might have to get empty sterilized bottles to decant your milk into. Or use water and SMA sachets.

hi

we just went through singapore and back on a trip to NZ last week and i had two or three cartons of forumla in my carry on and there were no problems, they didn't even ask me to put it in a plastic bag went it went through the security x-ray machine. i just left it in my carry on and didn't say anything.

bummer about Dubai sounds like a real hassle.

Phoned up emirates today to find out what their official advice is on this and received no help/support at all. Person on the other end of the phone didn't seem to understand what i was going on about.
