We're planning a eurostar weekend in Paris in May with DS(3). Can anyone recommend child-friendly places to stay and which sights to visit/avoid? We'll only really have a day and a half there, so want to keep it simple and central.
Thanks!

i havnt been there with my children so cant suggest any where, but hope it all runs smoothly and you have a lovely holiday.

Ice Creams etc and yummy drinks always go down well with little ones. . . .and any handy handbag snacks when you are out and about. Could be quite sunny and warm so dont forget sun hat and sun cream !!

some advice. I haven't been - yet - with a child but we are planning a visit with DS later in the summer (he will be 3 in May).

We will prob try the Cite des Enfants ici which is supposed to be fab.

We are planning to visit the ice cream shop Berthillon berthillon ici and we might visit some other inexpensive foodie places I liked before. For example, the atmospheric restaurant Chartier - my son has quite enjoyed the few visits we have made to French restaurants. Also, la rue Mouffetard market, which I am sentimental about, and which is characterful and maybe aimed at tourists but I think will be interesting to a little one.

As a multiple visitor to Paris since DD was 2.5 years every 6 months. There are carousels every where which provide lots of delight. If you would like to visit Notre Dame as you look at the cathedral there is a play park to the right of it which 20 minutes in there got us time to look round. We love the double decker carousels at the foot of the sacre coeur and across the seine from the effiel tower. DD has enjoyed the river cruise at about 3 years. We haven't done Cite des Enfant yet as it is quite a trek out of the city and I feel that probably the time it takes to get there will balance the enjoyment at about 8 years of age.
DD climbed up the steps to the sacre coeur for the first time at 3 if you then follow the road round to monmartre there is an ice cream shop on the right up there.
Make sure you have some snacks drinks etc in case you have to queue in Gare du Nord on the way back. Most of the time check in is fine, but if it goes wrong the French are awful. Poor DD (then 6) queue for 6 hours in sub-zero temperatures before Christmas with no chance to even go to the toilet let alone get a drink or something to eat, only one adult so impossible to leave line. Hasn't put us off though eurostar to Amsterdam next week.
Finally you will win many smiles and much delight from French waiters by teaching small children to say merci - many little chocolates have come DD's way through this.
