Hi,

Organising a hen do and wondered about going to Cheltenham. Not sure what the nightlife is like but found the boogie lounge. Looks fun and we are up for a dance/laugh but are in our 30s and it says about students on the web etc. Is it just a naff place full of kids or ok?

Any other bars too, plus anyone know what la tasca is like?

Thought about;
staying in a spa hotel
Pole dance lesson
la tasca
bar
boogie lounge

Help thanks ;)

Hi , Went on a hen night in Cheltenham a year or so ago. We went to La Tasca - good and the Boogie Lounge - terrible! We did go to a great cocktail bar before going to La Tasca but I'm sorry that I can't remember the name of it.We did find the night life a bit cheesy and it was a little bit dead every where ( in Nov). We were on a budget and stayed at the Big Sleep which I would highly recommend if staying in Cheltenham as it's really central and quite modern.

Oh no, why was it terrible? Cant seem to find anyone thats been so thanks for your comments can you just say a bit more.... Why cheesy?
Not into 'clubbing' so dont mind a bit of cheese..?

Hi Sarah,

It's so hard to say why it's cheesy! I'm not and never have been into clubbing but from what I remember every other song was a Michael Jackson one! Also quite a few old club/disco tunes from the late 80's and 90's.

I'm more of an indie girl really so it was never going to be my thing.

It got a bit much when a group of lads decided to jump off of the dance floor and dance on our table knocking all our drinks on the floor and then threatening us when we expressed our displeasure! We left pretty sharpish! ( we were a bunch of girls in our early 40's)

The guy experience doesnt sound good!
We do actually want the 80's and 90's stuff so we could always go in and come out again if really terrible. Found a few bars on the internet so may try those instead. Very hard to know where to go really!!
Thanks

I'm sure you will have a great time whatever you do - enjoy!

im from cheltenham, what kind of club do you want? Type of music, age range etc.I agree with big sleep for location, shops are good esp the prom for designers.I can advise on clubs if you let me know. Dont forget its races 14-18th great atmoshere with the irish here but hotels full and everywhere packed and expensive

sarahbeth2 · 10/03/2011 12:08

Thanks ledkr!

We are in our 30s and want fun music which i why i thought maybe boogie lounge but open to ideas! We should be dressing up too. We dont want to be surrounded by 'kids' but dont want to be anywhere too stuffy either if you know what i mean. Although would visit the odd coctail bar to start off maybe.
Music, chart or fun like 80's.

Not going until sept so will miss the races.

Do you know what la tasca is like too or any other recommendations? Thought la tasca as the one in birmingham where we are from has a nice atmosphere and the sangria is always nice too ;)

I will look up the big sleep now!
