I have been twice with DD. First time we just went for 2 day trips when Dd was 18 months. She loved it so much we booked for florida the following summer And then we spent 5 days there at end of our France holiday this summer - DD was 3. We stayed at davy Crocket Ranch. It is a bit further out and takes 5-10 minutes to dirve there. But the facilities there are great - lovely pool, and characters around most of evening.

There are loads of threads on here about Disneyland Paris and/or Euro Disney. I'll see if I can find a couple.

Took mine when they were 2 and 4 and TBH I think they were far too young. Wouldn't even contemplate it again until they were at least 8 an 10. There are queues for everything and a lot of the stuff my 4 year old was scared of. Sil came along and wouldn't go on anything because she didn't want to leave her new buggy in case it was stolen (prams aren't allowed in any rides/theatres etc.

I suppose it depends on the family, personally I much prefered Chessington and Legoland.

we took our 2 last December aged almost 3 and 19 months. They loved it!! They still talk about it all the time and ask when we can go again! We decided to drive rather than get the train as under 3s don't get a seat unless you pay! Driving was fab and we stocked up on wine on the way back! Going in Dec was magical as it was really Christmassy - fake snow falling and everything and old Santa was out and about with Mickey!

We stayed in the newport bay which was lovely (very fancy as you arrive but rooms nothign special)and a few minutes walk from the parks as it's on the lake. To be honest we'd probably stay in a cheaper hotel next time as we were really only in the hotel to sleep! Friends stayed in the Sequoia which they loved.

We went midweek which I've heard makes a big difference queue wise - we never really queued for anything. I think we used the fast track once. My 2 loved the parades and we had to do the steam train ride more than a few times!! All the restauarnts etc are at the entrance to the parks so it's easy to find somewhere to eat, although the rain Forest cafe was a top favourite!!
The kids adored it though and Eurodisney was just the right size for little ones - will wait till they're older before thinkign about Florida. Loved it so much we'll be going back next Dec hopefuly! Am frantically saving my tesco vouchers!

I would love to go too, but sure the cheapest and best way of organising things, these packages that you see seem quite expensive, is it best to get it all separately or as a package ?

ScarySkribble · 23/10/2005 00:26

We book accomodation direct with disney and flights with ryanair. We are in Scotland and the suppliments on the flights are silly. If you time it right you can get 4 for 3, 3 for 2, free kids etc. Check the site, her Look at great deals and price grids to work out the best times to go.

Newport is a beautiful hotel but unless your room overlooks the lake the rooms are nothing special, clean and bright fresh decor. Furthest away at the other end of the lake.

Sequioa's main building has a cosy feel with huge fires and log effects, rooms are in buildings that stretch out from hotel. I think you can request the rooms in the main building which is less of a walk for breakfast. Again the rooms are pretty standard, like any chain hotel. Quite close, at the park end of the lake.

The breakfast were the same in both really, continental buffet style, crossoints, rolls, cold meats, cheeses, yogurts, fresh orange etc. I think there was cereal. Fill the nappy bag under the table with rolls and stuff for lunch .

Golds
Save your Tesco clubcard points and trade em in for Cresta holiday vouchers - our 3 night trip to Eurodisney cost us £130 in tesco clubcard vouchers!!! Saving them to go next Dec!

We've just got back from Euro Disney - had a great time. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, and used the shuttle bus, which comes every 10 minutes or so. The hotel was great, and has a pool and games room.

The one thing I can't emphasise enough is the food is expensive and absolute crap, in the main. We hired a car and drove from Beauvais airport, and then used the car to go into Serris (which is the town beside E D) and ate out there in the restaurants in the town and in the v. nice big mall there. We also bought stuff for breakfasts and lunches (you can take picnics into the park, regardless of what the promo literature says) from the massive supermarket at the mall. Saved us money in the long run, gave us a chance to see some of the local way of living, and we got away from chips and burgers!

we got back on saturday with our 4 year who is still raving about it - as is her mother! we all had sucha great time - the only ride she didn't like was the rollercoaster and i really don't blame her.i felt very sick afterwards.
we booked thru eurostar and go the train, hotel and park passes included and it was by far the best price around. we stayed at the newport which was lovely but to be honest we only slept there - the rest of the time we were out so i would possibly stay at a cheaper hotel that was a bit nearer the park - eg the cheyenne.
food is pretty terrible - you need to book the good restaurants in advance which is where we went wrong
we left our luggage at the left luggage office at the station in order to maximise our time at the park.
we didn't have to queue too much and the fast pass system is a great idea so all in all it was a huge success.

we have been twice and with the ads on telly atm, I really want to go back for that Christmassy feeling!! Drove in the summer the first time and stayed at Kyriad (does that sound right) with MIL. Fabulous complex a bit further out but there was a regular shuttle. Dd's (8 and 10) loved it. Went back in February when we were staying in Paris with sister and BIL. Took the train out for a day and it snowed, brrrr. Spent more time at the animation studios this time and totally enjoyed it. My big tip is to take lots of fruit, snacks and drinks. Prices are horrendous!

Scaryskribble · 27/10/2005 21:28

TBH its not even the price, I expect to pay a lot in a park but expect it to be half decent. It isn't, they can't do fast food. Its slow and barely regonisable as food.

We tried one of the proper restruants which had a kind of a buffet going, not great at all. Plus the service was shocking. I pointed out that there was a broken glass on the floor they ignored me and the glass and carried on. In the end we didn't pay, not as a protest but because no one gave us our bill or approached us when we stood at the till. I gave them long enough then walked out.

The best meals were the one at the wild west show and the character lunch.

If your going in the warmer months packed lunches are the way to go, plenty lockers near the entrance so you don't have to carry it about. But when its colder i don't know what I would do as you really want some thing warm, perhaps if you had a kitchenette you could take soup in flasks.

Just a note for anyone who is thinking of booking here in the next few weeks. There are some great bargains at the moment. We are going on 21st November for 3 nights. We could have got 3 nights in Davy Crocketts for me, dh and dd (3) plus 4 days park hoppers for £354 with a ferry crossing for less than £50 directly through Disney which seemed a great deal. We have chosen to stay in the Holiday Inn just outside the park. The hotel (for all 3 of us) is only £35 per night direct with Holiday Inn. We have got a Norfolk Line ferry bargain for £48 from Dover and are buying our 3 day hopper passes from the Disney Store over here (much cheaper than Disneys online -prices). All in all we will have the whole 4 days for £350. Total bargain for 3 of us.

Just thought some of you might like to know how cheap it is to go at this time of year. Given that Centerparcs for those same dates at Longleat was the same price!!!

kiwibelle · 28/10/2005 11:36

hockeymum... you are right, there are great bargains out there if you shop around. We have found that it is cheaper to buy our park tickets there. I can't remember how much it was now, but with the exchange rate there was some difference.

paolosgirl · 28/10/2005 11:41

We stayed at the Holiday Inn, Hockey - very good, and regualar which took about 5/10 mins to get to the park
