Ford KA - car seats and prams to fit?

My husband has very kindly offered to buy me a Ford KA. The only problem is that we have a 20-month old DS and a baby on the way in August. I'm not convinced that we will fit DS's car seat in the back (it has to go in the back), the baby's car seat on the front passenger seat AND the pram in the boot. The pram I currently have is a Mothercare My Choice which is fairly bulky, and I'm planning to stick the baby in it and put my DS on a buggy board when the time comes to avoid the need for a double buggy. If we did manage to fit all these things in, there would be no room for shopping. Any advice, please? Thanks!

I had a KA for a while when DD was a baby - that was difficult enough and DS was in a booster seat as opposed to the size of seat that your DS will need.

Think you might be ok with a quinny buzz but not sure if they are ok from birth.

IIWY I would see if you can manage something a bit bigger - dsis has a corsa and gets two car seats in back and double buggy in boot and still has room for shopping etc

oh and a KA only has two seatbelts in back rather than three iirc

No, definitely don't even think about it if you will have 2.

I had one from before DS was born, and it was hard enough just with him (though at least we could put him in front as it was an old one with no passenger airbag), and I had to have the back seat down on one side to fit the pushchair in.

I have since used it once or twice with DS and DD, mostly if we had to take the other car to the garage, and it is a TOTAL pain. DS's new carseat doesn't fit in the back (think this would be a problem with most toddler seats, too) so he has to go in front, and baby in the back but then it is really hard to get her into a backwards-facing seat with no rear doors. As the car is so small, even when you put front seat forward there is very little space to get in the back while holding her and it nearly does my back in. Plus still have to squeeze the pushchair in next to her with the other back seat folded down.

If you have a newer one you may not be able to put the baby seat in the front either, if it has a passenger airbag, unless it can be deactivated.

Would definitely recommend getting something at least slightly bigger and with doors at the back - even if it means you have to pay a bit more or get an older model.

Thanks so much for your advice. It confirmed what I suspected! I think the only way to know for sure is to get the seller (a friend) to bring the car over and we'll see if everything can squeeze in, but like you say, it may be a very tight squeeze and not worth the hassle! Thanks again.
