We're planning a visit to eurodisney at half term with our 2 and 4 year olds. We live in london so would arrive at 2ish the first day and could leave at 4ish on the last day.

I'm inclinded to go for 2 nights and dh thinks 3 - any advice?

I'd go for 3. That way you'd get more opportunities to see the parades in both, queue for characters, do some shows and have time to revisit their more popular rides . You may find the 2yr old needs to take it at a slower pace anyway. We did 3 last year and prebooked the Buffalo Bill show which we all enjoyed !

If staying on site, I would give yourself 2 full days in disneyland, 1 full day in disney studios (not so much for the little ones).
First afternoon take your time saok up the atmosphere and just explore then enjoy the evening parade.
Last day run a bout daft and fit in as many favourites as possible. We nearly missed our flight back due to a cheeky extra shot on Peter pan .

Tips.
If hiring a disney buggy remember they do not lie back but do have a handy step on the back for older children, you need a deposit (credit card) and a lightweight bike chain will stop you worrying about losing deposit.
Your not supposed to take food in to park with you but cheaper and handy to take own snacks and drinks in, kiddiflask of hot orange or milk handy for cold queue lines.
Vending machines at station (between hotels and parks) are cheaper and handy for cans and biscuits, there is also allegedly a garage that sells snacks and drinks behind Santafe.
Fill pockets and kids pack packs at buffet breakfast with yogurts, cheese and rolls for lunch .

Parades are at 4 in the afternoon at the moment I think. Check the site.

Can I crash the thread and ask a quick question
I am going on thursday and staying on site at the disney hotel...I am going on my own with a 2 yr old - I need the buggy I think but what happens for the rides, is it easy enough to leave the buggy with a "cast member" or is there a space for buggies...I have no one to hand it over to.

handlemecarefully · 18/10/2005 11:45

There are buggies available for hire there - easier perhaps than taking your own?

If you want to take your own I wouldn't worry for one second about leaving your buggy outside a ride. Nobody will take it.

Can I just ask, how much - ballpark figure - would it cost to go to Eurodisney for 3 nights? How would the hotel rooms work if we have a 4 yr old, 3 yr old and 1 yr old?

Mum2girls · 18/10/2005 11:56

3 nights - we did this last Xmas with a 2 and 4 yo.

Mum2girls · 18/10/2005 11:58

Gobbledispook - we had a room with a double bed (me and DP) and a double sofa bed (for DDs) and the year before that as DD2 too little we had the same plus a cot.

Gobble: I am staying at disneyhotel itself and a room for a two night three day package inc park tickets was about 480 but there is just me and a toddler (free of charge)
there is a list of prices on the website you can check
for you
you can do it cheaper at the offsite hotels - but I cant be doing with shuttle buses on my own.

Aimsmum,

I'm feeling robbed. Same thing cost me - from memory - around £2K at the actual disneyland hotel for I think 3 nights, it may have been 4, in Feb this year. But I flew from a London airport - perhaps why it was dearer?

Did you get some sort of special offer? The Disneyland hotel is the most expensive accommodation you can get at DLP

Spatz · 18/10/2005 14:41

yes, I need to know where you managed to get that, too...

Thanks Aimsmum - I now feel a bit better that I wasn't necessarily completely over paying then!

handlemecarefully · 19/10/2005 08:38

grumpyfrumpy - I think if my memory serves me right my kids went free when we went this last February
