I am wading through Virgin brochure. Ritz Carlton Naples looks nice. But I thought I might ask here.

Any recommendations? This is for Easter 2012.

Oooh no help I'm afraid but just nosey question, where are you staying in Disney?

we are off in May staying at Disney Beach club, in 2008 we stayed at The POlynesian.

I love Disney, and florida and the sun.

We will probably just rent a house.

Ds2 has autism and special dietary needs so having our own place after the parks works well. We can eat at home and help him calm down after all the excitement Grin

We usually go to Caribbean for 2nd week but fancy trying Florida next year.

Pag - I was going to come on and suggest Barbados for your 2nd week.

The Keys - I have seen a couple of good villas down there.

Captiva Island or Sanibel?

Cant help with hotels as we dont really do them either - Could you hop somewhere like New Orleans?

we are off to Florida this Easter.

staying at Disney (god help us!) but in a villa, so house-like set up for dd1.

we are braving Disney dining, as well, as have been assured they ae shit-hot on allergies, and form speaking to them so far, they do inspire confidence.

so, we have one week in Disney, and then one week in Jupiter, FL (we are off there for ASD reasons, but have heard it is nice).

I can update when we get back, if you aren't desperate to book right now? we fly 2nd March, back 16th.

Ooh thanks.

I like the look of Naples but I was looking at sanibel too. I have a feeling that we can get a discount if we book in feb but I probably will still be faffing about by the time you get back silver. Is it DAN type asd matters?

Omnishambles . We are going to Barbados this year Grin and [lucky cow]. It is lovely but dh will kill me if I try to book it again....

all-round stuff, tbh. off to see Growing Minds. went to a conference last Novemebr, and they ahve a very good, holistic approach.

dd1's schooling is sorted (for now, usual annual review issues!), but we are having some home issues between dd1 & dd2 (possibly NT, possibly AS) - so want a family focus approach, to stop us all shouting at each other all the time Grin

I looked at all the discounts over Christmas. and booked a week after they all ended...

Pag, we took our DS who has autism and is on the gluten/cassin free diet to Florida last October. We stayed at a Disney hotel (apartment style room) and took advantage of the the Disney dining plan were all our meals were inclusive. I was very impressed with the lengths Disney go to to cater for special dietary needs. Every mealtime, which ever Disney restaurant we had chosen to dine in, a personal chef came to our table and spent time talking through the menu and what was gluten/cassin free. They even prepared a special meal if nothing to DS's liking was on the menu. I only wish it was so easy when dining out in this country.

We spent the second week on Captiva Island and Sanibel - wonderful!

Pagwatch · 21/02/2011 12:07

Oh thank you pink.

I will have another look at the Disney properties and sanibel/captive.

Naples is very nice, I'd recommend that or if you don't mind travelling a bit further, Florida keys is nice.

Ref booking a villa for next Easter, I'd recommend you do it sooner than later as Easter tends to be one of the busiest times, some people book over a year in advance.

I'd highly recommend Loyalty Homes www.loyaltyusa.com a company ran by an english lady who only manages luxury properties within 4 miles of Disney. All have private pools and many have gamesrooms too.
