Hello, we are in desp need of a break, week, midweek. Husband has cancer and we are free of appts until 2nd March, can never book ahead. Have 13yr old triplets, so need something for them, games room would be nice. Ideally searching for a private sauna as it is a treat for dh after chemo, he is always freezing. Live in Kent so would travel as far ar Dorset/Somerset,Yorkshire. Dh won`t go anywhere with no facilities, always wants something to do, nr a town etc. We love watching wildlife, rivers ,forests etc. Thank you.

Peak district?

This website has a few places available.

Portofino · 20/02/2011 12:58

Sunparks in Belgium have villas with saunas and waterparks, bowling etc.

Portofino · 20/02/2011 13:09

Also the Belgian center parcs should be doable in that drive time from Kent. Much better value than the UK ones, and it is not half term here in Belgium until March, so you would be "off peak".

And Duinrell has availability for next week. My friends go every year and love it.

Portofino · 20/02/2011 13:15

Landal also.

Lots of availability for next week at discounted prices. 300 euros for a chalet with sauna and whirlpool at the site in Belgium I linked to. But many are cheaper. We've been to Sonnenberg in Germany - about 1.5 hours from Brussels - 3.5 from Calais. The luxury chalets are lovely.

And a Norfolk Line crossing is about £50 return at the mo.

I just noticed that you are in Deal! That's where we are from originally....

triplets · 20/02/2011 23:01

I was born in Dover, went to school there. Dh was born in Deal. We had a house in Church Path for 5 years or so before we moved to Belgium. And I also lived on the High Street (in a flat) for a few years. A lot of my schoolfriends lived in Deal so spent my teenaqge years at Linwood and the disco at the Astor....

triplets · 20/02/2011 23:43

Gosh........I am going to the Astor on the 5th, a 60/70s night to raise money for the local hospice. My dh lived in Church Path before we got married, No 76! Small world isnt it?

Feeling pretty low this morning. Phoned Center Parcs y/day to ask if they were likely to offer a red on breaks available today, it was a maybe but had to phone this morning. So made a quiet call at 8.30am when they opened, told 5 villas still available at our nearest one, still at £979 for the most basic lodge! Sia there was no way I could afford that, explained our circumstance, desp break needed, etc, cant pre book as no one will cover him for ins, cant keep taking 3 x`s 13yr olds out of school etc..............still a no.......not fair is it?:(

Portofino...............you have been so kind, only just seen your links and one I would have loved. I have booked a 3 bed cottage in Wroxham on the Broads, river view and a boat for 4 nights for £400!Was looking forward to it until we had an almighty fall out at 5pm! Too much stress, packing for 5, selfcatering is not easy, I was really tired by 5pm, then dh asks whats for supper and I hurled a dustpan at him because he was annoyed I has packed the potatoes in the cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I should have thought about supper apparently. Feel bad now...........its stress, cancer, feel its always going to be like this, everything last minute, can`t fly abroad, no one will insure him, I feel so pathetic re reading this:(
