hello

first holiday with dd in a few week to caribbean. will be on a cruise ship so limited facilities.

she will be totally bottle fed and 16 weeks by then, although 4 weeks premature so eats for like her due date (only up to 4 oz at 10 weeks old).

wondered on best way to sterilise and feed her.
presterilsied bottles are six pounds for 12, but bulky and worked out on avaerage 5 bottles a days for 7 days = 35.

thinking only use them during plane journeys and use my bottles and sterilser bags during cabin stay?

also should i bring travel kettle for water?
what else?? haven't a clue to be honest. any help would be appreciated.

I think you need a microwave for the steriliser bags? So if you have a microwave in your cabin then the steribottles for flight and normal bottles the rest of the time would be fine.

I think JojoMaman or Blooming Marvellous used to sell an electric travel steriliser which sterilised 2 bottles at a time and you can just plug it into a socket.

bulky but easy way is to buy the 35 (plus spare!) steribottles and ready made individual cartons of pre- prepared formula then you can enjoy your hols with no hassle. Contact the cruise companya nd find out if ytou'll be able to egt a mini fridge in your cabin or if there's a mini bar so you can use it for bottles. You caould aske the restaurant each night to mkae you up a jug of boiled water (if they rinse it with boiling water and fill it with boiling water imo it will be sterilised then you can use it for making up feeds.). You caould ateksome bottles with you and some steriising tablets and faff about in the sink of your ensuite (been there). It is a faff but it is do-able. I've done all of the above and much preferthe bulky and more expensive version of sterilised bottles and cartons! Makes it more of a holiday for you!

You can get steriliser bags that don't need any faffing about with - and disposable bottles - here

think i would probably go for the steribottles and just remove all the cardboard packaging and spread them about in the luggage. if you are on a cruise once you get on you can unpack and put them in a cupboard anyway and i assume you could take them as part of your handluggage rather than a baggage allownace (if you habve them on cruises?)
