Wondering if anyone has been to the Carlisle Bay in Antigua? We are thinking about going the week after next with 2.5yo dd for a week.

Would appreciate any comments on the place.

TIA.

my cousin has - she is good friends with the owner

it is meant to be utterly dreamy

she went with a 2.5 year old and a 6 mth old and had a splendid time. probably assisted by it being free...! No really she thought it was wonderful

No MM don't do it! I went a couple of years ago and loved it. Well worth the £££ I paid. Very child friendly, spa for you, good restaurant, etc. Owned by the same people that own 1 Aldwych.

BUT My friend has just returned and apparently the service has gone downhill. 'Rooms not cleaned properly, sullen staff, ambivalence in the kids' club. A lot of the staff have left and gone to the hotel that has opened nearby (can't remember the name).

Oh Choo, now I don't know what to do! We went to Curtain Bluff four years ago & it was the most amazing place I've ever been. We've been thinking about going back there but I think I want to keep it as the extra special place dp & me enjoyed before being parents.

Where to go then? Hot, not Middle East, relaxed, happy. I've no idea!

My friend has just returned from here with her 2 yo. Long flight, but Air Mauritius do night flights.

Carlisle bay was amazing, we went from 15-22nd jan with a 4.5 yrs and 2 yrs and they had a ball. Our suite was directly on the beach, sep room for the children.
Kids club excellent, treasure hunts, football, tennis coaching, separate kids pool area, playground.
Spa fab.
Service was almost perfect with the exception of a couple of lazy guys at the pool bar.
Food in main restaurant excellent and free dinner for the children.
Very expensive - but worth it. We'll return for our 10th anniversary!
