Single parent on oversee holidays advice needed

Hi, i want to take my 4 year old son to spain but am rather wary of going alone. Has anyone been in this situation that could give me any tips or advice as I would really like to book but am scared of the risks of going alone??

I've taken my dc on several European holidays as a lone parent over the last 3 years. We've been here here here here for Disneyland paris but you have to drive all very do-able as a lone parent and I've made lasting friendships from all these holidays - excpet the Disney one but everyone was out of the park daytime although I got chatting to the family next to us in the evening. Portofelice was fantastic in every way and we went back twice - probably going to go back next year!! I drove to Duinrell (used tesco vouchers for overnight ferry which was luxury and just flew for the others. used public transport and it was very easy to get around. The beauty of the campsites in Europe is that they are geared up to be social spaces and if youahve great pools and beaches the kids are kept amused - plus they are outside playing safely all day and in the evening you'll get to sit with others outside the mobile homes drinking wine and chatting. Can't recommend that style of holiday enough. When we've gone to hotels I have to go to bed/sit on the balcony alone in the evening when DC go to bed. As your DS is 4 I'd recommend Portofelice (Selectcamps and Canvas go there) as the beach etc is very safe, the kids pool is big, there are loads of activities for his age and the site is flat next to a small child friendly gently shelving sandy beach.
I was scared the first time I went alone - 5 months after XH left but I did it and haven't looked back. It was our best and most relaxing holiday ever and I got to take my dc to venice - what an achievement as a single mum!!! Go for it and if you want to ask any questions, feel free!!
