Thinking Sensatori in Greece or Tenerife

But at £3,000 for a week (full board) I feel I might get something better for the 3 of us.

Now, we don't do package holidays! I just find them expensive but we are drawn to Sensatori because it included good childcare facilities so DH and I have time to ourselves as well.

Does anyone have any recommendations for somewhere in September (not too far away!) that has a creche/kids club but 5 star facilities for us as well.

I am happy to book hotel and air myself.

I am a fan of package holidays for the fact - if anything goes wrong (Ash, snow, civil unrest etc etc!) you do get looked after better than booking hotels and flights seperately. I do both but couldnt imagine being stuck with kids and no way home!

I was looking at the sensatori hotels and was all set on the Tenerife one - my friend has stayed at several of them and really rates the Tenerife one - her pictures are fabulous! Says is very clean etc. Little bit more money but she said is well worth it. Im planning on staying there for my first holiday with bubs (once he/she is older).

If looking elsewhere - have a look at the chiq and unique hotels in a Thomson brochure - they have some lovely hotels that are higer star ratings and great for hygeine with a little one. We went to Rhodes to Kalithea, the 4 star hotel was 5 star cleaned!

Good luck in choosing!

Thanks Jimmy. Still looking but still coming back to Sensatori!

I have been to both the Crete and Tenerife Sensatori. Have been to the Crete one twice.
Both are superb but the Tenerife one was better and more luxurious.
Will gladly answer any questions.

Hi Ken. Come back to Tenerife due to flight times being more reasonable with a 3 year old.

The Thomson website says that it is full board. If you want a drink outwith meal times, are they expensive. I see the Crete one is all inc.

Did you book through Thomsons or with the hotel direct? If with the hotel direct are you still able to book the child facilities or are those specific to Thomsons.

The kids area does seem to be pretty special though.

I am hoping to be away from the full-english/beer breakfasts that are common in areas of tenerife.

Anthelia hotel in Tenerife? Princess Yaiza hotel in Lanzarote? A cruise with Royal Carribean?

I got a week in June at the Anthelia AI for £1500 and ryanair flights from prestwick for £500 fro the three of us?

The village that the hotel is in isn't touristy at all. There are two kids clubs a hotel one and the Thomson one. We used the Thomson nursery as DD only 9 months. We met some other parents who used the Thomson club and they said it was excellent. There are evening sessions too if you want a meal by yourselves.
The staff were terrific and so good with children. Food is excellent and they are generous with drinks at mealtimes.
Drinks prices are as you would expect for a five star hotel - about ?6 for a G&T, ?5 for q beer. They do deals though for beers, wine etc in your room which are good value. There are shops nearby and thr hotel don't mind you filling up your own mini bar.
Sensatori Crete was very expensive for the All Inclusive option and you had to take it for the full fortnight.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 13/02/2011 21:27

Oh yes and the best bit - the Bali beds. Perfect for DD to nap on, luxurious and private. I want to go baaaaack.
Sharm for us this year though.

gregssausageroll · 14/02/2011 07:54

Thanks both.

Geordie we love cruising and it would be our first choice however toddlers are not allowed in any swimming pool unless fully toilet trained. DS will be 3 in July and I have no guarantee that he will be trained by the time we go. He loves swimming so couldn't keep that from him.

Although ds was toilet trained by then we didn't have any problems, and there was certainly kids a lot younger than him in the pool.

Having read the reviews on trip advisor the sensentori has mixed reviews. Havent been there so cant totally comment.

The one in tenerife is well out of the way. If you have that much to play with I would agree to go up to Anthelia or Bahia more up the Duque side. These hotels have excellent childcare facilities. Fantastic food, amazing hotel service.

Not sure you'll get creche facility for under 4 either.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 14/02/2011 20:01

You do get facilities for babies to 4 year olds in a seperate Thomson crèche.

gregssausageroll · 18/02/2011 10:44

bacon, all children are catered for at Sensatori. It is run by Thomsons whihc is the only downside as I can't book with the hotel direct - I need to pay Thomson's costs!

so if you book the hotel direct you can't use the thomson creche (even paying) is that right?
