Found the cost of rooms at the on-site Disney Hotels incredibly high AND you have to share the room with your children so bed by 7.30pm every night for all of us??

Going at Easter.

Have instead booked a house in a place called Magny le Hongre which is 10 mins drive from ED, close to the big shopping place and a 35 min train to Paris.

Does anyone know this village/town? Apparently there are lots of hotels but it still has cobbled streets (not fake Disney ones) and a bit of history.

Anyone know where I should buy tickets for ED? Is 2 days enough for a 2 and 4 yr old?

Sorry, I know there are LOTS of threads but it will be Easter by the time I trawl through them.

You can use clubcard rewards for your DP tickets. Your 2yo goes free I think.

Don't know the area, although we went SC in Val D'Europe (or something!) and it was fab. The shopping centre had a great supermarket so we stocked up on wine, breakfast stuff, nibbles for at the parks (you could do packed lunch but we didn't). There were a couple of okay restaurants in the centre too, which was fine as it was March, snowing, as cold as I have ever been, and we didn't want to traipse with small ones.

Enjoy!

Check what train line your place is on...it sounds like it could be the same line as DP with only maybe a stop or two. Saves the parking and driving.

I was on Blind Date and we went to 'Eurodisney' as it then was! Back then 2 days was enough!

MrsOCD · 09/01/2011 20:35

Val D'Europe is only a short drive from where we'll be staying and we too will stock up on wine, breakfast stuff etc. Will look into the clubcard rewards - thank you.

1993!!

MargaretGraceBondfield · 09/01/2011 20:39

OMG....I just noticed 1993...how old am I?

MrsOCD · 09/01/2011 20:48

Sure you were VERY young when you went on. Am assuming Cilla didn't need to buy a hat for you and your date?

Gosh no, I was 19 and had a serious bf and a skiing instructor on the side!! They guy was awful.

Yes 2 days is enough, there won't be much for that age in the Studio park, and you may find offers on the Disney site for 2 day passes.

We haven't actually booked the house yet - about to but having doubts about it. Can anyone recommend a 3-4 bed house within 5-10 mins of DP that is toddler/child-friendly?

this is where we stayed and I think it was good value. The only downside was that you had to walk through the shopping centre to get to/get back from the train (1 stop to Disney). That in itself not a huge problem since we were usually eating on the way home anyway. We were there in March, but I think from April they run a shuttle to Disney.

have you looked at davy crockets ranch? this is disney, so you get to use the Extra magic hours and have free parking and have characters at the site, but you can get a 2 bedroomed 'villa' which means the kids can be put to bed while you sit and read with a glass of wine. we stayed there for a week and it was great. also self catering so you can save lots of money by bringing/buying food to cook for yourself.
