Any recommendations? Am hoping to go in mid-Feb and looking for good quality accommodation for me and DP plus a 4 year old and a 2 year old. As it may still be a bit chilly, I think a heated pool will be needed!

Look for Playa Flamingo Apartments. We stayed here with Thomson - they are now used by First Choice as one of their family resorts, but there are some private apartments on the same complex.

Hi

I looked at the James Villas in Playa Blanca which look nice and I think some have heated pools.

Sorry to jump on the thread but what is the resort like? Thinking of booking for the summer but don't know anyone that has been.

do a search. it sounds really nice - we are going in feb. really pleased from the reivews on mumnset that we chose here rather than anywhere else - and the lovely people have given tips on restaurants and transfers etc

try www.lanzarote-luxury-villas.com
I booked with them last year and got fantastic clean family villa with heated pool for £500. Family run firm could not be more helpful

lanzarotelates.comhave a great range of villas and are really friendly and helpful. Most villas have private heated pools and are about 10 mins from the sea front. We're off there again in Feb, will be the third year we've gone.

SIL just stayed at Flamingo Beach Apartments and she said it was brilliant especially for children - the photos look lovely. We are think of going ourselves.

Hi

We are off to Playa Blanca at end Jan- after looking at hotels (expensive) and villas with private pools (better but can be out of town and pools were too deep for DS (3) to be able to get into alone) we went for a villa complex.

We chose Las Brisas which is right in centre of town but set in lovely gardens, and with biggest heated pool in Lanzarote! Its also got a big heated toddler pool.

Hope this helps- I'll report back what its like on our return!

Hi, we stayed at a fantastic villa last November. It was the most child friendly villa I have stayed in. It is in Playa Blanca, 3 bedrooms with a heated swimming pool and a child pool barrier which was great with the grandchildren. We booked direct with the owner Kate, see www.lanzarotevillacasaconvista.co.uk I have looked again to go in Feb but it is all booked, so I expect it is getting really popular. Hope this helps.

Hi
We have been looking there for April! We are looking on www.homeaway.co.uk (can't do links from my phone!). Very reasonably priced private rentals, you can search according to number of bedrooms/people/price etc.

Just back, resort was pretty perfect! lovely and clean and lots of nice places to eat/drink. We liked playa flamingo best out of the beaches- very sheltered even on windy days.

Our villa was good but Las Brisas had mopre old people than kids- and DS 3 preferred being on beach so pool was immaterial.

Princess Yaiza was fab- would love to stay there if we could afford it! Blue Village was the best child centrerd resort we visited though IMHO. And right next to playa flamingo.

I'd go back tommorow!

Glitterkitty, is it warm there just now? We eventually booked at Cay Beach Sun, but think the outdoor pools there are not heated - you reckon they would be bearable? What about the sea, warm enough to swim in just now?

It was HOT. We had 2 cloudy days out of 10. All the rest were spent on beach. All day. Was about 21 degrees- just hot enough to swim in sea (sea was freezing though!) and get sunburned! Lots of kids were in the sea. Playa Flamingo very sheltered and good for swimming- its a sort of lagoon.

We saw lots of empty unheated swimming pools though- icy cold! Unless you are very hardy I cant see you getting in. Oh, and it was windy on a couple of days.

You will have a great time- am jealous! I cried on the morning I had to come home!
