Orlando park tickets - confused - help!

Have just booked for two weeks in October 2011. Went in 2009 for the first time and had a Universal Flex ticket, which included both Universal parks, Acquatica and another water park, Busch Gardens and Seaworld. Thought about going for a disney ticket this time, but so confused about the range of tickets out there! Want to get the best deal (they're so expensive too!). Any suggestions/tips? Thanks [mickey mouse emoticon]

We always get park hopper for disney - as you can mix and match the parks - so if you think you'll do MGM and get there and it's heaving, then you can scuttle to Animal K. And always get the universal mix like you. Don't forget horror nights is on at Universal - if that's your thing. I've been before and it's BRILL - but not for kids.

You cna maybe just do disney for a few days - and make a proper "let's pack as much in" thing of it.

If my DH was here - i'd be able to give you more advice - as he's the expert at booking it all - so if i remember in 3 weeks time - i'll speak to him - but I do have a pregnancy brain - so if you haven't heard - feel free to message me.

If you are just after Disney the range of tickets is basically
7 day premium - unlimited access to all Disney parks and water parks for 7 days, including park hopping
14 day ticket - same but for 14 days.

Magic your way tickets. You but a ticket for so many days (doesn't have to be consecutive days) e.g. 10. Then you decide whether you want park hopping. This costs more. Then you decide if you want to go to waterparks and/or Disney quest. This also costs more. If you only want 1 water park it is cheaper not to have this option (but cheaper to buy MYW for 2 water park days).

We are going in April with a 5 and a 6 year old and I have bought 1 7 day MYW tickets with water parks for (I think) $286 (I mean dollars). This was much cheaper than the 7/14 day tickets.

I actually disagree with the PP and wouldn't get park hopping - but that probably depends on the people you are going with. In our case with 2 youngish children we can't imagine getting to 2 parks within a single day.

Disney also do a Hallowe'en party thing which is suitable for children.

Whats park hopping?

redskyatnight · 07/01/2011 18:16

A "park hopper" is a ticket that allows you to visit more than 1 of the 4 main Disney parks (Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom) on the same day. If you don't have a park hopper you have to stick to 1 park in any given day.
