Question re Eurotunnel prices

Hello - am hoping to book a Eurotunnel ticket some time soon for our summer camping trip. I have read a few of the threads on here about how good it is and how you can get on earlier or later trains but I'm wondering does that depend on which ticket type you get or should I just plump for the cheapest type ticket and then it won't matter if we arrive earlier or later?? Also does anyone know what a good price ticket would be roughly? We are Eurotunnel virgins as usually go on the ferry! Many thanks.

We use it approx every 6-8 weeks and always go for the cheapest available tickets. Provided that there is room on an earlier train, they will tend to offer you a space on it but you don't have to take it if you don't want it. They do say that as long as you arrive within two hours of your booking they will put you on a train but it tends to be best to arrive nearish your time so that you don't have to hang around too much if there isn't space on a different train instantly. Hope that this makes sense. The price will depend on how long you are going away for. It is always good to book tickets as far in advance as you can as they will put the prices up nearer the time (although they are often then knocked down again with days to go!). Not sure if this is making any sense but hope it helps a little.

I have never normallly paid more than 80 for a return trip when we come home. Their offers tend to be on single trips for 22.

Did you know you can use clubcard vouchers from Tesco too?

It is such an easy way to travel, we only use the ferry if we have to. It is too much hassle compared to just driving on to the eurotunnnel.

Thanks Ladies, am going to try to book this week - think it about £100 to book now and I'll try to use some tesco vouchers too. Thanks for the advice. :)

Becks you have to send off your Vouchers or exchange them on line, then they send you eurotunnel ticket vouchers which you then send off with a booking form.

And breathe!!! Bit long winded bu.t might save you some extra spends for some more tent pegs ....well you can never have enough....Grin

We don't have a Tescos but my parents do. Can they use their points to get the Eurotunnel vouchers for me to use or are they restricted somehow ?
