Anyone ever been on a 'keycamp' holiday?

Depends on what you are looking for. They can be good if your children are old enough to make friends and occupy themselves, but if you have younger children and prefer a bit more space or privacy then you might find the sites a little crowded.

They can also be quite expensive, you can often get a gite with a pool for the same price as a keycamp / Eurocamp mobile home.

We went on a Keycamp holiday to Southern Brittanny this summer, we have booked to go to the same place next summer.
It was perfect for us, our boys (6 and 4) loved it and there was so much to do. I'd never camped before but the tents are so well equipped and we were never there during the day anyway. We didn't tend to do much "onsite", we did use the pool complex and playground, but there was a beach 5minutes walk through a nature reserve so we were on there until 7/8pm most nights then had a BBQ outside our tent.
It was the best, most enjoyable holiday I have ever been on (and we travelled a fair bit pre-dc).

i havent but know someone who has, they took there 4 year old and said it was perfect!

our kids are very active and like to socialise with others - so mobiles have always worked well. we did a gite, but they got bored and we missed the tennis, big pool, tabletennis, bar, football club etc. however, we know of people who don't like ruffing it and aren't great at getting on with others and they hated it.

recommend looking at ukcampsites.co.uk and all the suppliers websites so you can choose a site thats good for you - we always choose ones that have large emplacements so not on top of your neighbours.

if you can go out of school hols its much quieter and cheaper.

We have, three years ago and off season (end of April/beg May) mainly because it was cheap - under 300 pounds. We went to the South of France in a caravan and had a nice week. I wouldn't go in high season as I think they get v busy and DH and I love the peace and quiet and privacy. Kids liked it though and enjoyed the pools, the games area and made a few friends.

Last year we went to a gite in the middle of [Normandy] nowhere and had a much nicer time enjoying a lovely house and total seclusion apart from cows and the odd dog

Oh and kids were 5, 9 and 11 at the time. Which actually makes it 4 years ago!

Used them to go to Italy; massive caravan at low price cos it was last week of the season. No complaints at all, vg price and van clean, but tbh we didn't really "use" them, Dd was only 2, so no kids club etc and had no need for rep. Could prob have had same holiday with any other company. But they were the cheapest when we booked!

We've looked at Keycamp but in the end decided to book with EuroParcs. They operate on many of the same sites as Keycamp but offer better value for money and often a better standard of accommodation. We've been to France and Spain with EuroParcs and have been very pleased with everything. I'd definitely recommend you have a look at www.europarcs.com before booking anything.:)

Beautiful site but uncomfortable accomodation and not relaxing at all.
