I'm looking for an Italian villa personal shopper. Does anyone want to play?

I'm going cross eyed looking and I think the problem might be that we'd like to be near a beach AND have a pool which I've heard is difficult due to Italian planning regs.

Anyhoo, do any of you clever folk have any suggestions to help us pleeeeeeeease? Smile

I'm looking for a big place for a few families. So far we are 17people and would prefer to have a bigger place so that living areas don't feel cramped with kids running round etc

So...

Sleeps 18 to, say, 24 (negotiable)
Doesn't have to be really cheap, but not like stupidly expensive.
Pool.
Ideally walking distance to beach but 10-20 mins drive is fine.
Walking distance to restaurants and shops would also be lovely (Italian wine is nice).
No egg and chips IYSWIM.
Been searching Sardinia, Sicily, Puglia and Marche, but the further south the better as we're going at Easter.

We've had a good old search on ownersdirect etc and found a couple of contenders but no outright winners yet.

Heeelp!

Yeah ok, I know it's cheeky and looks really lazy and someone should come along and do Let Me Google That For You Xmas Smile

But I'm stuck!

I have the very place for you. Villa Rosa in Atrani on the Amalfi Coast. We stayed there a few years ago - nice pool, walkable beach (although you will develop calf muscles of steel - a lot of steps), lots of little apartments with different capacity dotted around the pool area. Only downside is the terrifying slope you have to get your car down - you really don't want to be doing it in a van. But Atrani is lovely, and you can walk to Amalfi via medieval alleys etc.

I've linked to the owner's website but google it and loads of booking places have it.

see, I KNEW it was worth asking here!

Thanks Hassled, looks gorgeous. What are the steps like? kids are between ages of 6 months and 5 and I wonder if it would be difficult helping the younger ones whilst carrying beach stuff.

I do like the idea of being near Napoli though. mmmmm...pizza...

It's a great area - Napoli is all a bit much for me, but a day trip to Pompeii and Vesuvius is easily doable. You can get a ferry from Amalfi or Positano to Capri, which is packed full of rich folk and designer shops, but is beautiful - there's a chair lift which takes you right to the top of the island. The driving is quite perilous though - the whole area of coast is linked by the one road, with hair pin bends, scary drops to the sea, coaches, buses, texting scooter drivers etc etc.

Five year old would be fine with the steps - pushchairs would be a nightmare though, I'd imagine (although I have seen it done - you might just need to make sure it's a light fold-up one). Would be OK with a sling.

How about Sicily:
here

Wow puffing, I'm amazed you've found a site I haven't seen! I really thought I'd looked at every villa in Italy, so I'm off to have a mooch round that site.
