Long haul flight with one adult, a toddler and 8 month old

Flying from New York to London next week alone with DS1, 2.8 years, and DS2, 8 months and desperately need tips on how to cope. Also, has anyone flown Virgin and encountered the problem with the armrests of the seats just behind the bulkhead?? Basically, if you request a bassinet, the only place they can go is in the seats behind the bulkhead BUT, all the seats have fixed arm rests that can be lifted up so my toddler couldn't stretch out on two seats and go to sleep! This time I've requested that we not be seated behind the bullhead so that he can stretch out and sleep but where on earth am I going to put the baby??

I flew back from Oz with 2 about the same age and I think the bulk head would be better - my DS who was 2.6 slept in the seat with it just reclined or with a pillow over the arm rest and curled up. I think at least you can then put the baby in the bassinet for a break. I think you may feel so enclosed in another seat with baby on your lap and I assume toddler's head or feet resting on you to. Infant care chairs sound good - not heard of these!!

Best thing I did was buy little headphones that fitted my DS so he could watch the tv - the airline one's always fall off. JVC do some great kids ones for about £15 you can order off Amazon.
