can you help me understand whether this is a good deal? You have to exchange £27.50 for a park ticket... however, don't you usually get 4x the value in clubcard rewards?

Yes until December you get four times the value so the ticket is 'costing' £110. Then have a look oon the disneyland paris webiste and see how much the ticket would cost to buy outright

kiwibella · 16/11/2010 22:58

that is my question really - it's about 50 quid for a ticket. So am I missing something here? Surely it's just convenience and not a deal.

OP posts:
ChasingSquirrels · 16/11/2010 22:59

well, it is still 1/2 price.
Not all deals are 4x, the buy-in full ones are usually less.

FoJo · 17/11/2010 17:21

dont quite understand chasingsquirrels. If the ticket is only £50 to buy then it aint half price with tesco is it? Confused. the way I look at it, you are gettng something for nothing so if there's nothing else you want then go for it. If you pay for holidays, hotels etc with tesco rewards you always 'pay' top price and arent allowed to have any discounts such as free child places, early bird discounts etc but the way i look at it, its still costing you nothing!

We found the best deal was to use them for airmiles to pay for eurostar tickets to Disney and then book with airmiles people the Disney package including hotels and park entry. They were cheaper than direct with Disney and children under 12 were free and they were doing 40% off too.

kiwibella · 17/11/2010 21:50

I wish I had of thought of that IlanaK. That would have been much better.

Good point, FoJo... the pricings are usually different "higher" when using rewards vouchers. You are right, it is still something for nothing.

ChasingSquirrels, I didn't realise that. The deals that I have purchased have always been 4x (or the double up in store bonus).

OP posts:
ChasingSquirrels · 17/11/2010 22:17

I was rounding on the £27.50 v £50 being half price, it isn't quite but for the sake of being precise with the fraction...

The money voucher deals have been 4x, but the pay-in-full deals are often less.

It depends what else you might use your vouchers for, if the alternative is a deal that is greater than 11/20th price then use it for that instead.

Just to let you know that one of our posters on the Trip Advisor Marne La Vallee forum has just booked a 3nt 4 day trip with her 10 yr old daughter, staying in a Disney hotel for £ 209 ( park tickets for 4 days and breakfast included ) with the kids under 12 stay and play free offer. She booked the Eurostar separately for £ 129, so the trip cost £ 338 altogether.
Another poster got free Eurostar travel using Tesco vouchers.
The Disney website is not the cheapest place to buy park tickets.

kiwibella · 18/11/2010 19:58

that's brilliant Figgygirl!!! I'm off for a looksee Grin.

kiwibella · 18/11/2010 20:04

have you got a link to the post or can you fill in the details of the £209 bargain? Did she call the Disney number? I can't find the post on the forum (maybe I'm being blind?).

We've done the Eurotunnel using tesco vouchers.

If you don't understand French, use Google translate.

Disney website - book by 30th November for 40% off, plus kids under 7 or 12 Stay and Play free.
Book by 31st January for stays 6th April to 7th November. 30% off.
15% off 3rd to 23rd July inclusive, also combinable with other offers when dates coincide.
Book a 3,4,or 5 day break and get one day free.
See the Disney website for full details and dates of offers.

Figgygirl · 19/11/2010 21:11

I usually book my trips with Disney over the phone, as I find it easier going through different dates, hotels and prices. The prices are the same as online. The website can sometimes show as unavailable, but when you phone, it is available.
Also, the website only allows you to upgrade your HB category, not downgrade.
Just because you are staying in the Disneyland Hotel,( for example ) it does not mean that you necessarily want Premium Half Board.

You're welcome. If you need more DLP advice, ask on the TA MLV forum. I spend more time there, and there are other regular posters to help as well. I only check on here for DLP questions occasionally.
