Flying with baby - calpol query

Hi, Grateful for any advice.

I am flying to Australia from the UK weith my 3 month old. I am being terribly pfb about it, I know, but I am very anxious about his ears hurting on descent of the aircraft. I will have his dummy to hand and a bottle (not breastfeeding unfortunately which I am sure would have been better for the sucking action). However, I had thought of giving him a dose of calpol about 30 mins before descent as a preventative. Is this a completely bonkers idea?

thanks to anyone who can advise!

I don't think Calpol will help, all about the pressure, dummy or bottle much better, I reckon. Happy flying

Our DD was about three weeks old when she flew from Oman to London. She didn't have calpol and IIRC, slept through the whole nine hour flight (take off and landings). i think you'd be wasting your time TBPH with the calpol. The return flight was different, she was about nine weeks old and awake at take off and landing, we just gave her either her bottle or dummy. She was fine.

Thanks JustDo and Kreecher, I am much obliged to you both! I did think I was overthinking it and being a little too anxious.

:)
