Prices of various flights...

Does anyone know how it is that BA charge £1000+ for a flight that you can get from a "no frills airline" for £60? That is the impression i get having looked online. Can anyone shed any light on this for me? Is BA really that much better because i'd have thought that on a short haul flight the difference wouldn't be that much.

Presumably demand for the BA one is fairly high - is it exactly the smae route? Out of interest which route is it? Some of the no frills airlines end up flying you into airports that are miles outside of the city - so if you are attending a business meeting this could be a major PITA.

But basically the flight is not that different - so would assume it is a different route/time. If you're happy with the £60 otion then its a no-brainer. BA are really aiming at the business passenger.

sorry i got it wrong, it was £560+ for BA flight vs £60 for no frills. The route is the same - it's to spain so not far.

Having suffered with BA for years I have vowed never again and would much rather use a bargain airline - honest.

ok, thanks. I gather BA is a better option for those who travel for work then. It's just my mum said "but are those bargain airlines as safe? how can they get away with such cheap prices?£"

Well which airline is it?

Yes, BA is aiming at business travellers. This will affect its routing and times (they'll try and get you in and out of cities so that you don't have to stay overnight, and will also ensure that you land at the "best" airport).

I fly BA for business, but Easyjet for pleasure (in fact Easyjet is better for kids IMO).
