Haven't done this for a couple of years and going on Saturday. Apart from the obvious wine, cheese etc. what should I buy? Stuff like soap powder used to be cheaper is this still the case?

Yes gt that type of stuff (soap powder )is cheaper. They sell Persil containing Savon de Marseille.

You must buy some Bonne Maman Confiture du Lait, it is a creamy caramel which is scrummy on toast!!!!!!!! Never seen it in the UK

Stuff is more expensive in France now that they have the euro, it just ain't the same anymore! That dried sausage stuff is nice, I'd get some of that. Plus some snails and frogs legs just for the novelty!

I always get tinfoil etc and those tinfoil cooking trays etc, table napkins, couscous, olive oil, mustard, cassis, juice cartons for lunch boxes, mayonnaise, olives etc, tins of confit de canard. If you're having a party soon paper plates etc are good value as well.
