it very much depends on what you want to do! at disneyland a standard 'counter service' meal of say a pizza/burger drink and a muffin costs 11E per adult, 5E per child but you can find cheaper sandwiches at some places. at the other end of the scale you can have lunch with the princesses at the auberge de cendrillon for about 50E per adult and 35E per child (i think, can't remember exactly) which is a must do as far as we are concerned as we have a 5yr old girl and the food is fab! for a similar price there is the buffallo bills wild west show in the evenings which we love. highly reccommend you have lunch or dinner at cafe mickeym (where characters come round to see you) either with their set menu or, for a cheaper option, we have lunch there for 35E for two adults sharing a pizza (best in disneyland) and salad and 5yr old having a kids meal. have a look at the disboards.com for lots of information on the restaurants and character meals.

as for paris, we had a day there and only spent 15E on 3 croque monseuirs for lunch.

while you are at the campsite you can stock up at the supermarket and eat at the mobile home which will be cheap.

It really does depend. In the interest of mumsnet I kept a record!

We are a family of 5 with DCs aged 14, 11 & 10. Across two weeks we spent around ?2000 euros staying in a mobile home on a camp site. We didnt go mad but had lunch out 3 times at around ?100 per time (pizzas, ice cream for DCs, soft drinks all round) and dinner out one evening ?150 (3 courses, wine and soft drinks). My DCs wont eat off the children's menu so eating out is now expensive.

Housekeeping wont be as cheap as at home as you have to buy everything which you would normally have to hand (stock cubes, oil, herbs etc etc). The problem we find now is that it is like taking 5 adults on holiday.

We werent mean but we werent extravagant. We could have made savings but I think that this would have resulted in a less enjoyable holiday.
