Hi

I am resurrecting this thread to ask if anyone has been on the Singapore Airlines airbus or 777? Where would you sit if there were four of you? Middle four or split over the aisles?

Yes I flew Singapore Airlines 777 last year to Sydney from London and back again. I'd probably hedge my bets and split over the aisle. That way if it's not fully booked you can end up with an extra seat or two to share amongst you by scooting along when everyone is on board. Out of the 4 flights we took, on 2 of them we had 4 seats for 2 of us which was great.

We flew last year on A380 with 3 young children so was nice to have the 4 seats and all the room but previously we had to span aisle cos of oxygen mask availability.. as only 1 extra mask above 2/3 seats I think.

Both were good, we had bulkhead when all 5 flew and was fab to have room in front, Singapore staff were fab, helped with bags wothout being asked chatted to kids, walked us out to airport gate with bags as kids were asleep and we had to carry them.

As person above said can be handy if other seats spare to be able to move around if over aisle but both were good, they actually asked us if we wanted to take over spare seats in first leg so we had 7 bulkhead seats... great, good luck x

I heard that bulkheads weren't good because the Tv screens were far away but would recommend them if we can get them?

We flew Singapore Airlines and tried both ways. Found that 2 + 2 by the window meant that we got more sleep as the little ones curled up and used the adult head as a lap, and pointed their feet at the window (or aisle). With the row of 4 they were fine, but didn't settle as well with each other to be a distraction.

Best of luck. It was far easier on the plane that we had expected.

bulkhead seats we had had tvs in arms of seats so just pulled out, another half an hour of fun for darling children.... while you try and prevent them hurting their fingers ...
Only thing wrong with bulkhead seats are the arm rests dont go up between seats so ok for kids to curl in 1 seat if small enuff but if they bigger or yo want to lie down.. not ideal, but you can put your feet on wall...
good luck xx

Another vote for Singapore :)

Have flown Singapore Airlines and Emirates and found them both equally good. On the Airbus (and others) we have tended to split with 3 together at a window side and 2 across the aisle and that works well for us.
