I took milk through security when ds was 5 months with no problems. He was on prescription milk so I took 6 bottles of sterilised water and an unopened tin of milk powder. All they did was pick 2 bottles at random and make me take a sip of it. I took an empty plastic cup and poured a little from each bottle they chose and drank it so that I wouldn't get my germs into bottle. I also packed enough sealed tins of milk for our holiday. When I was in Spain I bought Nestle or Evian water to make up the bottles as we obviously couldn't use tap water and apparently other bottled water has high salt and mineral levels so can be dangerous. We had no problems at all and even used the bottled water to sterilise with to be on the safe side. Our ds was entirely ff due to my health problems and we were away for just over 2 weeks. I must admit I was worried but it was so easy I'd definitely do it all again.

Check with your airline for recommendations and help. If your going with a travel agency double check with them too.

You may be able to take and buy cartons of formula but just curious as to how you'd open them without scissors?

Good luck. Hope you have a great holiday.

good point about the scissors, mummywaf, i only taking what i need to travel, i'm staying with family, i checked online and cow and gate formula is marketed in spain with a different name, so that is not a problem...definetly like your approach to the way back, portuguese police can be a bit funny iykwim
