Hi

We have the chance to visit Disney in Florida for 1 day - DD will be 4.

I can't find 1 day tickets on the net, does anyone know the price to pay at the gate?

Also what area should we head for - it is all about her enjoying it, I hate rides and DH just wants DD to have a fun time.

Thanks x

How old is DD? I think that would depend on what to go for. Also - do you want to watch parades, or are you not that bothered? When are you going - will it be summer hols?

(sorry for question - my DH is Disney nut, and it's kind of rubbed off on me!) :)

If you are only doing one park with a 4 year old DD you HAVE to make it Magic Kingdom.
Have a look at the Disneyworld website and plan your day from looking at the info on their about MK park. Should have prices for one day entry on there too.
You just have to do the rides in Fantasyland (there are lots of different 'lands' there) and if time, see whatever show is on outside Cinderellas castle and of course watch the parade.
Depending on when you are going (ie if in a few months time) then you should think about booking a character breakfast or lunch at Cinderellas Table (in the castle) Again, all this info is on their website

you can get one day tickets from this site. I got my tickets from them very recently. Have fun!

Thanks for your replies. We will head for Majic Kingdom and we are going to chance geting tickets there. The web link royalhoops posted is great - thanks! But the 1 day ticket costs more (as they admit) because of postage and admin fee!

The site did price the ticket though so I know how much to Budget now!

We will head for Fantasyland then Lunch and see what time we have left.

Thanks for the help and advice Smile

I agree head with going to Magic Kingdom and heading for fantasy land.

If you can get tickets before hand I would recommend doing so, as the queues for tickets outside parks can be really quite long, and if you only have one day, you don't want to spend long in ticket lines.

Depending on where you are staying some hotels, shops etc will sell tickets too.

Cinderella's table is fantastic, a chance to meet and chat to all the princesses.

mumoverseas · 17/08/2010 21:18

EW I've already booked Cinderella's table for breakfast during our trip in October. My theory is let the princesses come to us, too old and knackered to chase them around the park! Not cheap though! Shock

ElizabethWakefield · 18/08/2010 10:17

No it isn't cheap is it!? We booked it for lunch when we were there in July, especially as 1 of our kids were 10 so was given an adult meal at adult cost...grrrr

It was worth it tho, the kids really enjoyed themselves, and as you say saved chasing them round parks or waiting in massive lines to meet them. Grin

Get to MK for it opening - AVOID a day which has Magic Opening Hours - check the Disney website for info.

Head to Fantasyland first. One of you get Fast Passes for Winne the Poo whilst the other takes DD on the Carousel. Then go to Dumbo and join line with DD; other adult lets 24 people in in front of them and then also joins Dumbo queue. You will then be able to pass DD off to the other adult when you finish your ride and she will have 2 goes, one after the other. Do Peter Pan then do Snow White if you think DD will be okay (as there is a lot of witch and not much Snow White).

Then go to ToonTown Fayre and join queue for Fairies (if DD likes the Fairies) - this takes for ever; the princess queue moves much quicker (in fact I would suggest one of you take DD in to see princesses whilst the other waits in Fairy line and then come up through and join person in Fairy line once you have done the Princesses - people are fine about letting you through!). ToonTown area is meant to open at 1000 hrs but DH was there in the Fairy line by 0950 hrs and it still took us 30 mins to see the Fairies, and by the time we came out the wait was up to 1 hr. It is the only place you can meet the fairies and they are very popular and play and chat with the kids so it can take a while to get through it.

Do Winne the Poo on Fast Pass and one of you go and get Buzz Lightyear Fastpasses whilst you join queue for racing cars. (You should try to get all this done before 11 am!). Small World is closed until October for refurb so at least you won't have to worry about that!

Or buy this book: The Unofficial guide to Walt Disney World by Bob Sehlinger with Len Testa. It tells you exactly what you need to do if you want to see as much of the Magic Kingdom in one day!
