Anyone know what baby/toddler meals are like on Emirates?

We're going to Melbourne in November with DD, who'll be 16m by then. Is it better to take foood with us for her, or rely on the meal service? She currently eats very little 'baby' food at 13m so I don't think she'd be impressed by jars, if that's all they'd provide.

TIA.

Hi, I've flown loads of times with my youngest two now aged 18 months and nearly 4. When they are under 2 they don't provide a proper meal but do come around with little jars of baby food and an amenity pack with wipes, talc and a key ring and sometimes a fluffy toy.

Definitely take your own food for DD and lots of little snacks like raisins etc if she eats them.

I travelled out to Sydney with my then 20 mth old. We had bought DS a seat so he was entitled to food. He had the toddler meals. From memory they were things like pasta, nuggets and similar, plus salad, vegies even sandwiches at lunch. My fussy DS ate quite well really.
Ask for a backpack kids thing. Dh is stil using his!

Take some foodstuffs for you as well as your DD (do not bring any uneaten items into Australia though).

Never rely on the airline to fully provide re childrens meals (which tend to be poor in quality anyway). Have also seen aircrew run out of childrens meals before now.

We're due to fly Emirates in Dec and been told they have baby food (jars) and childrens food on board.
Dont know what this is but my DS will eat anything!! He'll be 18mth, im taking own snacks just in case..

I've flown emirates loads of times when DD was a toddler and now with DS and they have always had jars of food but they may not have a very good selection. Normally one or two flavours so definitely take your own if your DC is fussy.

Thanks all. Is it the case that if DD doesn't have her own seat she won't be allocated a meal of any sort?

We flew with DD (16mo then) on Emirates in January and she didn't have a seat and was not entitled to a proper meal but they let us have an extra meal once everyone else had had theirs. They had lots of fruit and savory snacks on board so DD ate lots of those.
