Calling Paris experts: Central Paris - September - family hotel room

Any recommendations for accommodation - triple room, or larger double plus z-bed?

I've not been to Paris for few years and this will be first time with DD 2.5; therefore, need a bigger room and less inclined for my usual risky winging it and hang-the-consequences approach - have stayed in a couple of dives in the past, but as a couple, so sort of fun.

Also DH will be off the scene for the first day and a half, so needs to be somewhere I'll feel comfortable and not bored out of my tiny mind for an early-night in and local bite to eat.

My first web trawl has yielded nothing much cheaper than £5-600 for 3 nights - for nothing too special - this is surely crazy, Euro notwithstanding? I'd be happy with a family-run or Best Westerny type place, rather than trendy/luxurious if only I could find one in the 1500 samey options that pop up. Any thoughts?

Try the Hotel Brighton

It is a fabulous hotel, brilliant location just opposite the Tuileries and their family rooms are massive - 2 double beds plus a sofa bed. Downsides it has no room service or restaurant but does lovely brekkie and their are loads of local cafes etc. I have not been for a while so not sure how the prices compare but it used to be reasonable. I am afraid that al Paris hotels are hideously expensive though. Call to get the best deal from them, I always got cheaper than the internet price by calling direct.

ps - all the hotels from the esprit de france group are pretty good

The Hotel Brighton has also been recommended on the Trip Advisor Paris forum. I suggest you ask on there for more suggestions. The Paris Destination Experts on TA can help with most things in Paris.

Have you thought about renting an appartment instead? That is what I did last time I went to Paris, gives much more scope with toddlers. Try owners direct or holiday rentals, or www.all-paris-apartments.com/en/

We stayed in this Novotel just behind Montparnasse station with our 3 year old. Room not massive but nice, with good breakfast included. Handy for lots of places.

Should have said, it was a double with a sofa bed but we took our lightweight travel cot, covered it with the travel black out blind and then sat on the sofa of a evening!
