Child friendly B&B or hotel between Honfluer and Calais

Hi

Please help me before I go completely insane.... We are driving back to Calais and I am trying to find a family friendly hotel for a 2 night stopover (14-16 Aug) that is not outrageously priced (looking for a Sat and Sun night). I know have left it a bit late but just hoping that someone might have a good recommendation, as I have trawled through hundreds of places. Around the £70 price would be good, but I might be dreaming! Don't want much do I?

Many thanks

Hi Sandgroper we have stayed here a couple of times:

www.hotel-lescale.com

We havent taken DCs there but have had lunch in the restaurant with them.

No pool but I think it has a playground and you can always march DCs up to Cap Blanc Nez to earn their dinner!

Rooms are simple and in your price bracket but you will need to add on breakfast and dinner. Restaurant was very good with lots of choice.

Alternatively check out:

www.logisdefrance.com we have stayed in many of these without recommendations. Basically put in your search criteria such as a playground. If a hotel has a playground it is going to be child friendly!

Hi Sandgroper
I put the following conditions into the Logis search:
2 rooms for 2 nights 14-16 August max price per room €80 and a playground in Nord-Pas de Calais region. The following hotels were returned:
www.aubordeseaux.com/
www.hotelacacias.com/
www.les-dunes.com/inde x
www.ferm-auberge-laraterie.com/modulosite2/bienvenue.htm

Good luck and get booking!

Hi SuzieHomemaker

Many thanks for your great suggestions and links, much appreciated.

We have been to France loads of times and stayed in lots of Chateaus/Hotels pre-children, but they add a whole new dimension to travelling.

We have never tried Logis hotels and I was a bit unsure about what they are like. Didn't occur to me to put "playground" into the search but makes sense. My brain is scrambled from looking at so many properties and we have just moved house.

I have just sent off a mail to the last one you suggested, which looks amazing so will report back when we get back from our holiday.

Hi SuzieHomemaker

Back from a wonderful holiday in France. Just to report back we stayed in Ferme Auberge de Raterie, in the countryside 15 mins from Bolougne. Was a fantastic place, gorgeous farm with great family room and lovely gardens, fab restaurant. Definately not the cheapest option, 2 nights turned out to be 400 Euros, got caught out with being charged 12.50 for each of us for breakfast, bit of a rip of for the kids (2 and 4) but my own fault as I didn't check beforehand and we did have dinner at their restaurant (that we well worth the cost). Still it wouldn't put me off staying in Logis De France places again and I will definately use them for next year's holiday.

Thanks for your help.
