Two rooms but not interconnecting!!!

Hi,

Just found out the two rooms at our hotel are not inter-connecting but will be next door to each other. My little ones are only 1, 3, 5 so it looks like me and hubby will be sleeping apart for our well-needed break ; /

Just wondering if anyone else has had to do this and how they have worked around it. Pretty unromantic idea and the childrn love sleeping with one another. But would never risk it.

Any thoughts or tips?

oh no - can you not try and see if hotel can move you to interconnecting rooms?

bugger me - 2 year olds pissing about at bedtime... what a shock.

No - there are no interconnecting rooms at the hotel!

do you still have a baby monitor as that might help? you could at least use that for some of night and then one of you move into the room - that way you get some time together til its time for bed (if the rooms are next door its not so different from being downstairs at home ). also put do not disturb notice on door so no one comes in to turn down room etc.

Depends on your booking terms, if you booked it as the inter-connecting rooms being essential and they are not then you should be able to change hotels FOC if you've booked thru an agent.

No, we didn't say it was essential. It's our own fault - I just assumed all hotels had interconnecting rooms.

I guess it's not a disaster - just seems a bit wierd going on holiday and being apart. Good idea about the baby monitor but wouldn't leave them for long - too paranoid. Have also asked for high floor (make sure balcony is locked) as I don't want to be on the ground floor with easy access. : (

One parent in each room. That is what we have always done whilst they are small. I wouldn't even consider having them on their own even if it was next door.

Put them to bed, in one room, then use the other room as a living/dining/whatever room.

Then your dp in to sleep with the children and you have a wonderful night's sleep on your own.

What's not to like???
