we are (hooray) going, after managing to sort out the money side of things [hooray emoticon] and want to go to this, but anyone got any tips? last went to Euro Disney 6/7 yrs ago, we're staying in the one with the lake in front.

We just got back from there last week, it was very very busy. Are you staying close to the parks? What sort of tips are you after?

Going October, really want to know f half board is worth it, what the parks are like for a two year old, are the shows any good? (Thank you!)

Hi Grumpy, we stayed at the Dream Castle hotel. This had lovely outside grounds so we could let off steam after the hustle and bustle of the parks and a really nice swimming pool which the children really enjoyed.

Dinner there was a buffet and cost 25 euros for adults and I think 11 euros for children, it was ok but I did not go back after the first night. We were bed and buffet breakfast, it was fine there was loads to eat to set us up for the day, but by day 3 none of the children felt like a massive breakfast and we were eating because we thought we should rather than hunger, consequently we were looking for places to eat early afternoon for the children.
How far will you be staying from the parks? If you are planning to get the courtesy bus back to the hotel for dinner then that will impact on how you plan your day. We found our days started later and later and had a knock on effect each day on dinner times which probably accounted for the lack of appetite in the morning. We liked the flexibility of the evening meal when we liked.
We ate lunch at the New York Deli which is in the area next to the station (sorry rubbish with names) and that was quite reasonable and good food. Book a table at the Cafe Mickey (same area) food was excellent and it will save you searching out the characters in the park as they come round to the table to have their picture taken with the children which was great as it saved us queuing in the parks.

The best area for a 2 year old is the Fantasy Land. The rides are more appropriate and appealing to them (we had a 3,5 and 6 year old). When we were there last week it was really very very busy, queues of up to an hour for a ride so it meant that the children actually went on few rides but they did not seem to mind a bit.
The show in Walt Disney Studios that we saw, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, was a hit and they all really enjoyed it (not sure if on in October)even if it was all in French! The floats that went past in the park were good as the characters then got off to pose with the crowds if you were willing to queue (which we weren't). There was a daytime show which was interesting when we saw it the first time but the older ones were not bothered about it after that. The night-time fireworks were exciting for the 3 children but to see the floats before it was so crowded that we could barely see anything and if the fireworks had not been on we would have felt cheated.

Another good place to meet characters was in Frontierland at Woody's round-up area, Minnie, Mickey and Woody were all available for photos and nearby is a kids play area for them to run about in.

Definately, I am sure you will, bring your own buggy. 8.95 per day hire with 70 euro deposit if you want to go out of the parks. I am sure the queues will be better in October and your little one will have a great time. I was a Disney sceptic before I went but actually I had a really nice time as the children loved it so much and as you can see from how much I have written am thoroughly converted.

Thank you ! Really useful info esp charachter meet ups. We are staying in the nautical one at the end of the village? Admiral Rooms in the hotel with the pool at the front. So, walking distance. Not great with queuing so might try the Fast Pass thing? It's half term, for Halloween. The castle looks beautiful (but not so good for three small boisterous boys!). Thank you so much!

Forgot to say that on our second day there all I could hear at one point were frazzled parents shouting and swearing and screaming children. Everyone sounded like they were at breaking point - remember to pace yourself and the children!

If you are staying where I think you are you will be passing Cafe Mickey on your way into the parks. There is also a little train that takes you up to your door (2 euros) after a long day you might need it. There is also a hot air balloon that you can sit and have an ice cream and watch go up and down if you do not fancy heights.

Fast pass was a good idea but only available for the Peter Pan ride in Fantasy Land and we never went back for the fast past time slot. If you have boys a ride on the auto ride thing in Discovery land will be a thrill. I went with DD and DN and explained that both would want a drive so we were able to go around the track twice so they were delighted (there were 2 and 3 seater cars). Opposite is the Buzz lightyear ride with Fast pass tickets available.

By October the Toy Story rides will be open in the Studio area so that may be worth a look, were not ready last week.

The other big tip I got was to buy Disney stuff here and bring with you if you can. A pair of Minnie ears that everyone seemed to have on cost £9 there and sell for £4 here. When in Frontier-land we bought sheriff hats, handcuffs etc have not compared prices but you could buy small items that they might like and not have your budget broken! Have a wonderful time, it really was magic.

The train was by the Hagen Das stand in the village and took people who were staying at the Nautical hotel on the other side of the lake (your one I think) and the hotel that was facing the lake and another one off to the left somewhere. I imagine after a long day in the parks it is a treat just to hop on that back to the hotel. We just took the children on as a treat, the driver had a liquid lunch and was rather pickled but the train does not go at a great speed and it got us there and back again. Hopefully the train is still there when you are there in October.

That sounds great - ours is the Newport Bay, and definitely looks nautical. Wd be good to avoid trekking back thro village, and [bonus emoticon] ice cream while we wait...

we have stayed at the Newport Bay. It does get very busy so my tips are to get upgrade if possible to admirals floor, as at least you can have a quiet breakfast in there and also come back there for tea/coffee + cake in the afternoons when everywhere else is busy. Use the shuttle bus from the main station to save walking - my children quite liked this and was less stressful than getting the two year old to walk (refused to sit in her buggy!....Angry). Agree with esor that Cafe Mickey is relatively good value + good place to see the characters. We also liked Walts on Main Street, as although a bit expensive the food was good and large portions). Rainforest cafe also good + massive food portions. Studio Park is also worth going to at weekends or when the main park is busy. Also a good time to do the train journey round the edge of the main park. Last tip - make the most of the early hours opening if your children are early risers. We ended up doing the Buzz Lightyear and It's a Small World only at the beginning or end of each day to avoid the big queues. Have fun!
