Hello.

I am trying to cost a holiday to disney world in florida for sept/oct 2012 - yes I know! but we have our hols booked for next year and I need to start seriously saving for this!!!!! - anyway, I wondered if any of you could advise me on the following;

ds1 will be 9, ds2 will be 4. Is 4 too young IYE? Its a long flight isnt it???

Am looking at going with Virgin (went with them to new york pre kids and was impressed) good idea or no?

Would love the animal kingdom lodge or something similar for 10 nights and would need tickets to all the parks etc. Would also love to do the dolphin swim too. I am thinking it will easily be £4000/5000. How much spending money would we need too (assuming we have the tickets and our meals and drinks are free??)

Really would love to go but need to have a fugure in mind so I can get saving after xmas!

Thanks!

Hi Beccaroo, we have booked for Sept 2011 with Thomson's, 14 nights at AKL with free Disney Dining, Disney Tickets, Discovery Cove Swim with Dolphin and Free Seaworld and Universal Tickets for 2 Parks.
Our Price is £6300. (we are flying from Newcastle which really bumped the price up) !!!
However as our DD1 is over 9 she is paying adult prices for all tickets.
We are taking £1.5k Spends to be on the safe side!

Things can be booked seperately, but with another ticket seller going bust a few days ago, I would rather be fully protected by a large travel agent.

We did Paris last year (AMAZING) and now the big one.

Hope this helps !

Just wanted to say you should be able to manage for about 5k based on 10 night holiday !

I agree with charley24 There are 4 of us (eldest son is now adult cost) & we usually go in October, you should do it easily for £5000. When booking time comes around, have a look at www.holidaygenieflorida.com Seem to find cheaper prices anyway, & pricematch/beat other agents.

This year we booked our park tickets along with our package. I could have maybe got them a few quid cheaper booking elsewhere, but had niggles in the back of my mind about companies going bust. Also had the advantage of just paying a deposit for them & being able to save gradually, rather than having to pay it all in one lump sum. Smile

Another thing, I know there are millions of disney hotel devotees who will argue with me, but I would really recommend staying in a villa over a Disney hotel; so much more room for little ones, & you can do your own thing much more. Usually have their own pool too, which they will love. Will also bring the cost down considerably.
..or maybe compromise & do 3 nights on disney property, & a week in a villa.

Anyhow, whatever you decide, have a wicked time!! I know how you feel re saving, as once we've been to Florida this year, I am on a mega save to go to New York (& poss somewhere else ??Florida!) for new year in 2012, as my son will turn 13 on Jan 1st, & would love to do new year in Times square to really make his birthday special for a change. Obviously as it'll be Christmas & New Year, I'm sure it'll be ridiculously expensive.. Not that I won't love it too, obviously!! Wink
