Are you allowed to take cups through airport security containing cow's milk/water/juice?

Travelling from Birmingham on Friday with 13m DD, first time we've had to contend with this this as last time she was still ebf. I've found some stuff on govt. site saying you can take formula and sterilised water in bottles, but DD only drinks from me (morning and evening) or from Tommee Tippee sippy cups. Is there a problem taking empty cups, as these are over 100ml capacity? And will they allow them if they're filled with cow's milk or juice/water?

TIA

Call your airline - they can give you the most up to date information.

Thanks

You can take an empty cup, and most places don't mind childrens cups with water in - but will make you drink some. At a busy airport, people may thank you for buying a bottle of water airside though and putting it in the cup

Looking at the info here it would seem that you won't even be able to take the empty cups in hand luggage and then fill them airside. It says containers must hold no more than 100ml

0121 782 6879 is the number for the Boots in Terminal 1 which is airside - could you call them and see if they sell the Tommee Tippee cups so you could at least buy one to use on the plane, and then put the others in your suitcase so you at least have them once you're away?

Cheers Flisspaps (love your name btw!) and CMOTdibbler.

I've taken TT cups through - usually they make you taste them

The direct gov site says they may be over 100ml under the baby milk/food section

There is no problem with taking empty cups - the link Flisspaps gives refers to containers which are holding some liquid.

OK, thanks, so hopefully we should be OK with empty cup at least, so we can buy some water/juice airside in Boots.

Yep, there was no problem taking an empty cup through Birmingham and back through Dublin on the way back
