Compensation claims for flight delays?

Does anyone know if carrier compensates for being delayed 2 days. Have been told that if you were supplied with accommodation/food this is their compensation. Is this right?

You can make "reasonable" claims for out of pocket expenses. E.g. a phone call home a day, laundry so you had clean clothes.

Almost certainly your definition of reasonable and the airlines will differ.

Hi there, we were delayed on a flight for 18 hours. This meant htat we paid for accommodation abroad which we didn't use and missed a day of our holiday. I have just been told my insurengo that I am entitled to £20 because I was delayed for 12 hours. This seems such a small amount for the expense/distressed caused. Anyone had a similar experience and managed to get more money? I'm so cross!

I don't think you would be as it is a relatively short period. Flights are delayed all the time and there is often knock on effects for connecting flights.

Ha, sorry got confused between op and reply. Two days is not a short period.
