Has anyone taken young children to Kynance Cove?

We are off camping for 3 weeks soon and I really want to go to Kynance Cove but am a little worried about cliffs/steep paths etc (they are 2, 4, 6 & 8) Just wondered if it is easily accessible?

I have been pre-DC and it's a looong way down from the car park to the beach, iirc though there is a buggy-friendly path that goes down to the beach, check the National Trust website as they own it (you have to pay quite a lot to park too).

An alternative nearby is Poldhu Cove, much easier to get onto as car park is at beach level, can't remember if there are toilets (and no cafe/shops iirc) but it is quieter than Kynance and equally beautiful.

Poldhu is also right next to the Marconi visitor centre if the older ones are interested in science...

Poldhu looks lovely!! Just discovered Carbis Bay too... Are there any hotspots for finding wild seals etc? I may start a thread for that too. The Children are too young for the boat trips but would love for them to see some.

Another vote for Poldhu - our favourite Cornish beach. Also love Church Cove and Gunwalloe - the next beach up from Poldhu towards Helston.

You can walk over the cliff tops from Poldhu to Church Cove (go to Church Cove for lunch, as the pasties are good from the shop there. Back to Poldhu for the Roskilly ice creams, from the shop there.)

We love Mullion too, at low tide as you go through a tunnel in the rocks to a secret beach. And Porthleven is our favourite little town - pretty harbour, nice beach and exciting lifeboat displays if you go on the right day.

Don't forget to visit Roskillys to see the cows being milked and the ice cream made - it's free and a great day out Roskillys

Carbis Bay is great but can get very busy.

We have seen wild seals in the Sennen area, walking the cliffs.

HTH - enjoy. We've holidayed in Helston every year for the last 10 years. Not going this year, but feeling quite now!
