Neilson - which resort?

We're thinking of booking a beach break with Neilson for early next summer and I'm a bit bewildered by the choice of resorts. Does anyone have any experience of them? The tripadvisor reviews seem to rate Lemnos, but wondered how you had found them.

We will have a 6 month old and a 2 1/2 year old, so somewhere with a good kids club. I'd like a resort that's pleasant to relax in, good windsurfing and a nice local town we can wander to on non club nights. Not so fussed about sailing.

Thanks!

I have been to Lemnos, Halkidiki and Ortakent. It really depends what you want. I liked all 3, but Ortakent was my favorite-I went in early June this year, and it was really hot. It's smaller than the other resorts and therefore you get to know people more. The winsurfing was ace-good for learners in the morning and windier in the afternoons, but I didn't get to do it as I am pregnant (reports from friend and bloke). I have a 5 y/o and there were only 2 of them in the club. He had an ace time. There were about 5 toddlers there and the staff had loads of time for them. Cannot recommend the kids club enough. The other resorts are great as well, and the kids clubs there also good, but are bigger. Had problems with a lack of wind in Halkidiki, but that might have been just the week we went.

We've been to Haldikiki and Sivota. Sivota was quiet, with very little wind. Good for beginners, but I wouldn't go back. Haldikiki was better for the sports, but you do have to put up with the "smelly lorry" which comes in the mornings to emptly the septic tanks.

We went to Vassiliki a couple of years ago. there's great windsurfing, and they had some lovely "nannies" for the babies, and older kids too.

The wind is very reliable - gentle in mornings, and force 4-6 almost every afternoon. It is about a mile to walk into the town, which has a range of the usual sort of restaurants around a pretty harbour.

We had a lovely time.

Vassiliki is a great place for windsurfing and we have been several times with Neilson. The nannies are very relaxed but competent and because the beach club is very small you can easily discreetly keep an eye on them at first to see if they are happy. I don't windsurf but according to dh the kit is top-quality and it's a big bonus to have everything pre-rigged and have the help of willing and energetic staff to get it all out of the water when you are exhausted at the end of the day! They have club dinners, BBQ etc on a few evenings, otherwise there are several restaurants close by or you can wander into Vass for a bit more life!
