go to www.thetrainline.com

or go to the station and haggle

imo the second is the best way to get a good deal

TotorosOcarina · 20/07/2010 14:34

None there cheap.

Just looked for you. Sorry but couldn't find any that don't cost a small fortune.
Is there a coach option? Usually much cheaper (tho of course also much slower) than the train.

TotorosOcarina · 20/07/2010 14:39

coach is fine too but csn't find any of them either!

thanks

Mega Bus?

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 20/07/2010 14:42

Can't you fly to there?? IIRC there's a small domestic airport in Newquay.

posey · 20/07/2010 14:43

Just looked at flights too! bmibaby.com has some flights a lot cheaper than train (under £100)

Are you travelling with children? Even if they are under 5 and don't officially need tickets? It can work out cheaper to get a family railcard and buy a ticket for at least one child - adults get a third off and children get 60 per cent off, so it is often cheaper overall even if you are buying an extra (officially unnecessary) child's ticket.

If you get in quick, you might even be able to get a family railcard at half price if you haven't had one before - see mail discount thread here

TotorosOcarina · 20/07/2010 14:45

nope, just 2 adults

ShirleyKnot · 20/07/2010 14:46

You only really save on train tickets when buying them very much in advance.

LOOK!

ShatnersBassoon · 20/07/2010 14:47

I agree with posey and would have a look at bmibaby. They'll be cheaper and far quicker than the train.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 20/07/2010 14:48

www.bmibaby.com/book/cgi-bin/skylights.cgi £96 pp including taxes with BMI baby.

TotorosOcarina · 20/07/2010 14:54

100 each is too much,

he canm go tomorrowfor 18 return but misses a birthday that way ~

OP posts:
ShatnersBassoon · 20/07/2010 14:57

I would go tomorrow for £18 and forget the birthday in that case. I don't think it would be possible to travel for less than £50 each otherwise.

belledechocolatefluffybunny · 20/07/2010 15:05

It's 143 each return on the train. Have you tried splitting the journey to see if it's cheaper?
