hi there
we are going to barcelona with DD1 (3.5) and DD2 (1.5) for a week and wonder whether you have some recommendations as what to do and where to stay? we are thinking apartment rentals, but not sure which area is suitable. will be relying on public transit as well.
TIA

oh yes lots to do for them there

public transport amazing no problem

there are 2 pools - one hidden away in the middle of the city and one in the mountains a good bus ride away

also there is in the middle of the park a play area where in the morning they bring out loads of toys and ride ons for free

the zoo is fantatsic as well, and there is a fantastic place in the marina for meals - icant remember what it is called will ask dh when he gets in

you dont tend to use the bus, you use the metro and most stations have lifts, we didnt go far on bus at all

here

we have been to both of these, they are great, the first one is an all dayer (take food!! we usually stop in the supermercado on our way somehere) and the second more a hald day thing

""If you are more adventurous and prefer the great outdoors, the newly re-opened swimming lake in the Parc de la Creueta del Coll in Gracia is well worth a visit. The lake is open until the 31st of August from 10 am until 4 pm weekdays and from 10 am until 8 pm weekends and holidays. (Parc de la Creuta del Coll: Pg. Mare de Déu del Coll, bus Nº 28 from Pl. Catalunya, Tel. 93 207 66 73).

If you have little children and want an idyllic spot for a picnic in the centre of town, head to the Jardins de Torre de Aigues. Located in the heart of the Eixample, this little park has a knee high pool, complete with bridge and water tower for the under 7?s, and a sandy area in the shade. The gardens are open throughout the summer months and there is an entrance fee of €1. (Jardins de Torre de Aigües: Carell de Consell de Sant, 4, Metro stop Girona)""
