Drusillas/Marwell Zoo

Any recommendations as to which one of these is best for 5 and 3 year old? Can only do one..Thanks

Hmm... have been to both, and my opinion would be that Marwells is probably better for the following reasons:

• not as big (but big enough to entertain)
• not as commercialised
• probably cheaper ? (but check)

I like Drusillas, but sometimes I think the little kids are just totally overwhelmed by it, and personally I HATE the big adventure playground/ play bus/ bit because it's always swarming with big kids and the little ones get pushed around?

Both are great so you should be OK with whichever you choose.

IIRC Drusillas has more play area, but Marwell has a couple of trains that you can take that are fun. For animals I think Marwell has more variety.

Haven't a clue about Drusilla's but I'm a member of Marwell zoo, and my 3 year old adores going there.

Be warned, Drusillas entrance charges are shockingly expensive. I went with my two sons and it cost us £32.50 . That's almost much as the three of us spend on a visit to legoland.

I have gone to lots of zoos and chidren's farms over the years and never been so out of pocket. I expect to pay around ten to twenty pounds for the three of us. There are a lot of animals to see, but still... hmp, unless your chidren are animal mad, they are on the young side to get lots out of the zoo area.

My older children love the playground. I first went there 5 years ago when my oldest was 6, so not a toddler. I can see why Gameboy's children would feel overwhelmed. It is very difficult to keep tabs on where you children are.

It was definitely a lot less expensive five years ago.

We went to Godstone Farm the following week - almost as much to do, lots of animals to see and two lovely playgrounds and it cost us about ten pounds to get in.

another vote for marwell here...

but i havnt done drusillars fro several years!

also... you lots of places (restaurants / swimming pools etc) do those little credit card size mini adverts for places... the marwell zoo one has 10% off for up to 6 people... so its worth seeing if you can find some

i think places like little chef / beefeater have them... but i got mine from my local cafe in emsworth! (flintstones, by the sea!) maybe worth a coffee for 10% off!
