Priotiry Boarding with Easyjet?

Is it worth getting priority boarding for dh ds (3) and I or will get to board straight after priority boarding as we are travelling with a toddler?

TIA

You should get to board immediately after the priority boarders with an under 5, so I wouldn't bother - we've never had an issue getting 4 seats together when we do this (we have a 5yr old and a 4yr old).

Agree with PH.

We flew a couple of weeks ago and they asked those with "little people" to queue behind Speedy Boarders.

However, on the way home we didn't get the privalege, although we were in the last third of travellers boarding, and we were in a group of 10 we were still able to sit in 3 groups of 3/4, albeit seperated by the aisle in some cases, but TBH I think that the hostesses would have made people sitting on their own move to create at least 3 seats together so that DCs all had an adult near them.

Thats grand thanks - might just risk it then - the flights are cost £500 so if we can save a wee bit it would be appreciated!

Worst case scenario you would get 2 seats together so that one of you was near your DS.

DH.. definately!!!

Definately do not pay for priority boarding. Parents with young children are always boarded with the speedy boarders(or whatever they're called!).

And if your airport uses buses to get the passengers to the plane speedy boarding will have been pretty much a waste of money anyway!

Agree with others. Last time we flew Easyjet from hideous hideous Luton airport, I was on my own with 2 tired boys (3 and 5). Security at 6am took forever, so we were on last bus to plane and the very last people on, having missed the small children slot. People moved (eventually!) and we all sat together. I was slightly disappointed . Find it hilarious that some people are so desperate to sit in the seat they have bagged that they won't move even when threatened with a stroppy 3 year old.

kreecherlivesupstairs · 13/07/2010 11:29

I'd agree that it's a waste of money. We flew from Zurich to Luton with them and as we have DD got speedily boarded. Because they used a bus and we were on first, we were off last.

Nefret · 13/07/2010 20:57

We had speedy booking last year as it was our first time with Easyjet but this year we haven't bothere as anyone with children under 5 go in the 2nd group on board.

midnightexpress · 13/07/2010 21:03

Don't waste yer money. DP currently weekly commuting with Squeezyjet. He regularly sees the old/infirm/betoddlered released from the pen for priority boarding, only to be overtaken by the agile/young/determined/drunk before they even get to the plane. Or else loaded onto the bus first, to see all the standing passengers getting off first and onto the plane. Tis a rip-off.

Coca · 13/07/2010 21:08

Hmmm the time we paid for it we were allowed to get on the shuttle bus first which meant that we were last to get off and had to have a hissy fit on the plane just to be allowed to sit with my dds 6and 4 at the time. The time we said sod it (after the previous trip) we were last to board as 75% of the plane had paid. They didn't board young families early that time. (obv not us as ours are now over 5) Damned if you etc...do....blah ...blah...blah

midnightexpress · 13/07/2010 21:09

I think it's a case of every man for himself. Perhaps you could get your elbows sharpened before you go?

northender · 13/07/2010 21:14

We used it recently as our dc are a bit older (8 & 5)and they seem to have the bus thing sorted. The speedy boarders were told where to go on the bus and were allowed off first. It worked well and was even better for us as we'd only paid for it on the outbound flight but SB magically appeared on the return boarding passes too

Nefret · 14/07/2010 10:51

I think it also depends on which airport you are travelling from. We go from gatwick so there is no bus, they let the groups go directly onto the plane from the gate so it is much fairer.

On the way back from Bodrum they had 4 queues and they opened one at a time and you walked to the plane.

emali · 14/07/2010 10:59

with gatwick we were boarded right after the speedy-es, so no need to worry. next time is luton and seems going to be interesting..

feetheart · 14/07/2010 11:06

Luton seems to be hit or miss depending on where the planes are ie whether you need a bus or not. Travel via there to Belfast 2-3 times a year, never had Speedy Boarding, never needed it, never had to kick up a fuss............yet

Amiable · 14/07/2010 11:08

We fly frequently with EasyJet from Luton to Berlin (DH's family is German) and have never paid for Speedy Boarding - DD now 4.5 yrs, and am due DS any day now, so expect to get another 5 years without paying!

Once or twice have been put in group A or B at the check in desk, but have either pointed out there and then we have a small person with us, or at the gate and have ALWAYS gone through with SBers.

top tip - if you have a baby/child in nappies be aware the loo with the changing table is usually at the back of the plane (and also everyone else seems to rush for the front, so it is much easier at the back!)

RedArsedBaboon · 14/07/2010 11:08

Easyjet will only do priority boarding with certain flights Tried to book priority for this years hols to be told that for this flight it is not available.
