Recommendations for books or programmes on early fossil discoveries?

I've been on holiday in Lyme Regis and the jurassic coast.

I'm fascinated by the early 1800s and the first real fossil finds. Imagine seeing those for rhe first time, hearing about them, trying to work out what they were and how they came to be. When natural history societies and all were being set up and people were trying to understand.
I find that whole period so interesting.
I can't quite think what the name for that time period is. I'd love to read and learn more but I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for.
I've read a bit about Mary Anning. Both fact and Tracy Chevalier's Remarkable Creatures. I read a book about the founding of London Zoo.

What else can I read or watch or listen to? I'm not very scientific nothing too complicated.

Thanks for any recommendations.

A film called Ammonite perhaps?

Richard Fortey does very accessible books on fossils. A Stitch in Time by Penelope Lively is a novel partly about fossils, although it's aimed at children.
