I think history is full of interesting 'what if's'.
Mine is, what if Henry VIII hadn't married Catherine of Aragon? But would be interested to hear other's.

I've always had a few. What if Anne Boleyn didn't have that last miscarriage in 1536 and had a son instead? What if Richard III won the Battle of Bosworth? What if Henry VI's men had won all their battles and Lancaster kept the crown? What if Edward VIII never abdicated?

Admittedly, my what ifs surround the monarchy as that is where my interest in history has always predominately been.

What if Bonnie Prince Charlie had pushed on beyond Derby ?

What if some groups of people weren't deemed inferior by white western men? For example black Africans and women. Similar to pp on homosexuality being illegal.

What if Empress Matilda had succeeded instead of Stephen? A Queen regnant in the twelfth century- would that have changed attitudes to women in power? Maybe she would have changed the rules of succession so females became the heir apparent before their younger brothers. What a difference that would have made.

What if Alfred hadn't managed to hold Wessex against the Danes?

What if David Miliband had beaten his brother Ed in the Labour leadership contest?

What if King Edward had not fallen in love with Wallis Simpson and abdicated the throne for her. We'd have had a completely different Royal family.

This is a zombie, but. A good zombie. Wink

What if DNA tests had been available during the middle ages? Would we have had different rulers?

What if JFK had not been assisnated?
How different would things be in Scotland if Donald Dewar lived for longer?
How different would America be if Barack Obama had more support?
And many more.

What if Boudicca had won her final battle against the Romans?

Hedgehogblues and ReggieKray I also think that if John Smith had lived longer Britain would be a very different place. Especially if Nigel Farage had sustained life altering affects from that plane crash he was in. I'd not wish ill on the man, but, he was exceptionally lucky that day, and his luck on that day has influenced our country and world politics in a massive way.

Sliding doors.
