I suppose I'm pondering who might not only appear in the history books of the future, but would still be a "household name", like Shakespeare is today.

I think definitely the Queen for being such a long-reigning monarch.

Albert Einstein??

Neil Armstrong??

I think it will be remembered as a time when people went to extremes and was highly authoritarian. Like the Puritans, communists, Nazis, counter reformation.

Thatcher as first female PM.

Niche maybe but probably Blair, for universities impact and ‘presidential’ approach to premiership.

Martin Luther King

Totally agree with PP that Princess Diana will be a latter day Anne Boleyn!

Misericord · 11/03/2018 23:46

Just seen 500 years - scrap Blair!

What about authors / commentaries? Who is our 20th century Pepys or Milton? Maybe Orwell?
